MACHINE SPECIFIC SAFETY WARN-
INGS FOR CABLE HOISTS
WARNING: DO NOT LIFT
PERSONS OR ANIMALS. DO
NOT LIFT LOADS OVER PEOPLE.
DO NOT STAND OR WALK ON OR
UNDER A SUSPENDED LOAD. Warn
people not to enter the work area.
• DO NOT overload the hoist. Con-
sult the data plate (not the hook!) to
check the maximum rated load.
• DO NOT use 2 or more machines to
load the same object.
• Before every use, inspect the hoist
for any sign of loose, broken or
malfunctioning parts and any other
conditions that may affect its safe
operation. Damaged or worn parts
must be immediately replaced by a
qualified person.
- Inspect steel cable for nicks, goug-
es, and any type of deformation or
damage.
- Inspect the limit brackets for flexibil-
ity.
- Inspect hooks for nicks, gouges,
deformation of the throat open-
ing, wear on saddle or load bearing
point, and twisting.
- Inspect hook latches for proper op-
eration or damage that does not al-
low proper operation.
• DO NOT operate hoist if any wear,
damage or malfunction exists.
• DO NOT attempt to lengthen the
steel cable or repair a damaged steel
cable. If the steel cable is damaged,
it must be immediately replaced by
a qualified person. The new steel
cable must have identical specifica-

EN
tions in terms of size, dimensions,
welding and hardening.
• The hoist has to be lubricated regu-
larly before use.
• Only lift loads, whose weight is less
or equal to the nominal capacity of
the chain hoist.
• DO NOT lift loads with less than
10% of the hoist's nominal capacity.
• DO NOT operate beyond the limits of
the steel cable.
• DO NOT use the steel cable as a
sling to wrap around the load.
• DO NOT side load the hoist. Always
pull in a straight vertical line from
hook to hook in the direction of load-
ing.
• Hoists are designed for lifting loads
vertically and must not be used for
horizontal or angle hoisting.
• Be sure there are no twists in the
steel cable and make sure that it is
free to move and will clear obstruc-
tions.
• DO NOT tip-load any hook, as this
will exert undue strain in the hook,
resulting in hook failure.
• DO NOT use hoist if hook latch is
missing or malfunctioning.
• Before raising make sure load slings
or other approved attachments are
properly sized, rigged and seated
securely in the hook saddle. Raise
the load only until the steel cable is
taut and then recheck the rigging
before continuing to raise the load.
• DO NOT run the steel cable over a
sharp corner.
• DO NOT move load in such a manner
as to endanger personnel.
• DO NOT use the hoist in such a way
that could result in shock or impact
loads being applied to the hoist.
• Ensure that a suspended load does
never swing.
• DO NOT leave the hoist under load
for extended or unattended periods.
• DO NOT continue to operate the hoist
if excessive noise occurs, when the
chain skips, is stuck, blocked or is
overloaded. Do not apply any force
to the hoist, it is designed to lift its
rated capacity when a reasonable
force is exerted.
• Ensure that the remote control is in-
stalled between 80 mm and 150 mm
above the ground.
• DO NOT pull the end stop of the steel
cable into the hoist; damage can be
caused.
• The hoisting operation should never
be applied to a fixed or jammed ob-
ject.
• Extreme temperatures will lower the
toughness of the hoist. Loads should
be lifted and lowered very slowly
and carefully.
• DO NOT hoist hot molten masses.
• Keep body parts away from the ro-
tating parts of the winch.
• DO NOT use the limit brackets as
on-off switch.
• DO NOT leave the load hanging in
the air for a long time to prevent the
deformation of the pieces.
• DO NOT change any part of the ca-
ble hoist or disassemble it.
• Take the cable hoist in to a thorough
maintenance after 20 hours of oper-
ating time, but at least once a year.
• DO NOT use the cable hoist for more
than 100 hours of operating time,
added up according to work duty.
• Press the Emergency-Off switch im-
mediately to stop the motor in case
of a dangerous situation.
• Check the power cord, the device,
and the extension cable for damage
before use. Do not operate a dam-
aged device, immediately discon-
nect the plug from the mains.
• Repairs must be performed only by
qualified electricians using original
replacement parts; otherwise, seri-
ous injuries may occur.
