RECEIVER
USER MANUAL
Congratulations and thank you for purchasing your new Sonik® SKS Bite alarm.
We are sure that it will provide you with many years of faithful service in your
angling. Please take a few moments to read this manual. The advice it contains
will enable you to get the very best performance from your SKS bite alarm.

Getting Started

Battery Fitting/Replacement
Remove the battery compartment cover by sliding it carefully down to remove it
from the casing. Insert carefully 1 x PP3 9V battery noting the polarity shown on the
connection terminals. Replace the battery cover ensuring that it closes positively
into place.
Switching On / Off
To turn the receiver on, slide the rear power switch to 'on' The four LED's will flash in
sequence and the speaker will sound 5 times. To turn the receiver off, slide the rear
power switch to 'off'
Volume Control
To increase the volume, press the V button; it will cycle through the 6 volume
settings. The speaker will sound the volume level selected. The lowest volume
setting is silent.
Tone Control
To change the tone, press the T button; it will cycle through the 7 tone settings
available. The speaker will sound the tone selected.
Vibration Mode Selection
Press the Vibration mode button to cycle through the following receiver modes
1. Light + Sound
2. Light + Sound + Vibration
3. Light + Vibration
Last Memory Recall
Press the M-button and the receiver will indicate the last recorded alert received
from an alarm transmitter.
Pairing the SKS Alarms to the Reciever
Please note that your alarms should come pre-registered to the receiver. However
if you would like to change registration order or add a fourth alarm to the receiver;
follow the steps below.
1.
Remove the S-button cover and use a thin but blunt instrument to reach the
S-button.
2.
Press the S-button to cycle through the four channel positions available (Bright LED
= channel free, Low LED = channel in use) In order to pair an alarm the channel
must be free (see step 3 below otherwise move to step 4).

To erase a paired channel use the S-button to select the channel. Next press and
hold the S-button until the LED changes from low to high brightness. To quickly
erase all channels Press and hold the S-button for a longer time until all channel
LED's flash bright.

When the chosen channel is selected and free, activate the required alarm head
by rotating the roller wheel. The receiver will bleep; indicating that the pairing is
complete.
5.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 to sync other alarm heads on the receiver if required.
6.
Turn receiver off / on or wait 15 seconds for the receiver to return to normal
function.
7.
Replace the rubber S-button cover.
Functions In Use
When activated the SKS Receiver will replicate the alarm head activation. The
channel LED activated will remain latched and flashing for 20 seconds for both
forward and drop back movement. A lower speaker tone will sound when a drop
back indication is detected. The receiver will remember its channel, volume and
tone and mode settings even if the battery is disconnected or removed.
Low Battery Warning
If a low battery voltage is detected when turned on; after start-up LED sequence,
all LEDs will flash 5 times. All LEDs will repeat flash 5 times once every 10 minutes to
signal a low battery.
Notes
Maximum battery voltage should never exceed 10V or damage to electronic
components is possible.
Each main receiver will only respond to paired transmitters.
To save battery life; the receiver should be powered off when not in use. Please
remove the battery when unit is not being used for extended periods of time.
Use of good quality alkaline batteries is recommended for best performance.
