USER MANUAL
Congratulations and thank you for purchasing your new Sonik® SKS Bite alarm. We
are sure that it will provide you with many years of faithful service in your angling.
Please take a few moments to read this manual. The advice it contains will enable
you to get the very best performance from your SKS bite alarm.
Getting Started
Battery Fitting/Replacement
Remove the battery compartment cover by sliding it carefully down to remove it from
the casing. Insert carefully 2 x AAA 1.5V batteries noting the polarity shown on the
connection terminals. Alarm speaker will sound when batteries are fitted correctly.
Replace the battery cover ensuring that it closes positively into place.
Switching On / Off
To turn the alarm on, press and hold the V button; LED's will flash three times and a
high ascending tone sequence will sound.
To turn the alarm off, press and hold the V button; LED's will flash once and low
descending tone sequence will sound.
Volume Control
To increase the volume, briefly press and release the V button; it will cycle through
the 6 volume settings. The speaker will sound the volume level selected. The lowest
volume setting is silent.
Tone Control
To change the tone, briefly press and release the T button; it will cycle through the
7 tone settings available. The speaker will sound the tone selected.
Sensitivity Control
To change the sensitivity, briefly press and release the S button; it will cycle
through the 4 sensitivity settings available. The speaker will sound 1-4 times to
confirm selection. Sensitivity setting 4 is the highest setting and the alarm will
trigger with only 3.5mm of line movement.
Extension Out socket
Located on the underside of the alarm this is compatible with most illuminated
indicators with 2.5mm jack plug connection.
Functions In Use
The SKS Alarm will remember its volume and tone and sensitivity settings unless
the battery is disconnected or changed. The LED's will remain illuminated for 15
seconds after activation for both forward and drop back movement. The alarm will
issue an alternative tone for drop-back movement and the drop back white LED
will illuminate.
Night Light
To activate the night light, press and hold the T button. The LED's under the roller
wheel will illuminate on a low brightness setting. Press and hold the T button to
deactivate the night light.
Low Battery Warning
When a low battery voltage is detected the main alarm LED will flash quickly 5
times once every 10 minutes to signal a low battery.
Care of your SKS Alarm
All SKS alarm products have been designed to be weather proof. However it is
important that after use in extreme wet conditions the unit be allowed to dry out
indoors.
Notes
Maximum battery voltage should never exceed 5V or damage to electronic
components is possible.
Each main receiver will only respond to paired transmitters.
To save battery life; the receiver should be powered off when not in use.
Please remove the battery when unit is not being used for extended periods
of time.

WARNINGS
Do not trigger LED or speaker in close proximity to Human or animal eyes and ears.
Please store your SKS alarms, receiver and bivvy light out of reach of children.
Avoid dropping or subjecting your SKS equipment to impacts.
DRYING OUT AFTER USE
All SKS electronics have been designed to be weatherproof. However, after use in
heavy rain, it is important to allow the units to dry out properly indoors; removing any
protective covers.
