Always wear protective gloves when performing
these steps.
Observe the following steps, to maintain proper
functionality of the machine.
• Once work has finished, thoroughly clean the machine.
• Remove any resin residuals.
• Regularly lubricate the splitter column with eco-frien-
dly grease or oil spray.
• Check the oil level and change the oil, if necessary.
• Regularly check the connections of the hydraulic ho-
ses for leakage and tightness.
Sharpening the Splitting Wedge
After some time of machine operation, when the splitting
effi ciency has reduced or the cutting edge has become
slightly distorted, sharpen the splitting wedge using a
suitable fi ne fi le (remove burrs).

How to check the oil level?
1. The splitter column must be retracted.
2. Unscrew the fi ller cap and check the oil level using the
dipstick.
3. Clean the dipstick and sealing.
4. Insert the clean dipstick into the hole as far as it goes.
5. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level.

If the oil level is between the marks, there is enou-
gh oil in the machine.
If the oil level is below the lower mark, it must be
topped up. Use a clean funnel.
6. Check the sealing. It must not be damaged. If da-
maged, replace it.
7. Once the oil level has been checked, put the cap back
and tighten it.
When to change the oil?
The fi rst oil change must be performed after 50 wor-
king hours, then after every 500 working hours.
Oil Change: Two persons are needed.
1. The splitter column must be retracted.
2. Move the splitter table to the upper position.
3. Place a suitable container (minimum capacity: 10l)
under the machine.
4. Unscrew the drain plug and let the oil run out.
5. Re-fi t the sealing and screw in the drain plug.
6. Using a clean funnel pour in new hydraulic oil
(approx. 9.5 l)
7. Clean the dipstick and sealing.
8. Check it for leakage. If the seal is damaged, replace it.
9. Insert the clean dipstick into the hole.
Used oil must be disposed of in accordance with the
applicable laws (at a collection point). Disposing of
oil in the ground or with other waste is prohibited.
Hydraulic oil
The following oil is recommended for the machine:
Mogul HM22, ISO VG 22, or an equivalent oil featuring
comparable parameters.
Do not use other oils. Use of other oils will negatively
affect operation of the hydraulic system.

Storage Conditions

Store the wood splitter in a dry area on a level fl oor. The
machine must be stored out of reach of unauthorised
persons, especially children.
