Installation in hazardous areas (Ex)

This page is not applicable for the SulfiLogger™ S1 sensor.
Special conditions apply for installations in hazardous areas.
Pay close attention to other Ex equipment used in conjunction
with the SulfiLogger™ X1 sensor and the PowerCom Box.
Observe the specifications in the ATEX certificates as well as
national and local regulations.
Use Zener barriers or Ex isolators for installations without the
PowerCom Box (Fig. 6).
The PowerCom Box must be installed in a safe area if the DC and/
or SCADA connectors are used.
Ground the sensor at the M6 thread or at the eye bolt if the cable
guard accessory is used (Fig. 5).

Special conditions of use

 The SulfiLogger™ X1 sensor must be grounded.
 The ambient temperature area for the SulfiLogger™ X1 sensor
is specified to: T : -20°C to +60°C.

 The SulfiLogger™ X1 sensor must not be disassembled.
 It is the end user's responsibility to select proper barriers for
the SulfiLogger™ X1 sensor.
 The PowerCom Box is for fixed installation. Protect it from
direct airflow causing a charge transfer.
 Do only clean the PowerCom Box with a moist cloth.
 Do not replace PowerCom Box batteries when an explosive
atmosphere is present.
