U-MODELS ONLY: CALIBRATION OF THE ULTRASONIC SENSOR
• tension the web between supply roll & take-up roll
• push the bracket holding the sensor as close as possible towards the rolling guide shafts
• select the ultrasonic sensor with the switch on the rear-panel of the PM-300
• remove some labels and place backing paper only in the gap of the ultrasonic sensor
• press "+" & "-" simultaneously for 1 sec, the red led will flash
• slowly move the web back and forth 4 to 5 times for the sensor to detect the label and the backing (self-teaching)
• end moving web on backing and press "-" 1 time, all leds will switch off
• start the unit on slow speed, the yellow led should flash for every label detected
FOR CLEAR LABELS ON CLEAR BACKING ONLY:
• mask the second small black gap sensor from left to right. This will deactivate the end of paper function, but is manda-
tory to use this kind of label material.

On the rear panel, besides 230V input power connector and the "On-Off
switch", there are two other switches.
• (LEFT) : to control the rewind direction, with labels "in" or "out".
DO NOT CHANGE DIRECTION WHILE THE UNIT IS RUNNING. THIS
ON HEAD ERROR
COULD PERMANENTLY DAMAGE THE MACHINE.
• (RIGHT) : lets the operator decide if they wants the machine to
stop when a head error occurs (e.g. low ink), or simply turn-on the error
light on the front panel.
• Signals: ENC A and ENC B: Square wave 0 – 15V
• Linear encoder resolution: 40 or 80 microns (depending on model)
• Gap: Open Collector (15V)
• Start/Advance '1': Pulse 12V to 15V (The pulse length should be shorter than the
time it takes to advance one label)
• Busy: Output: 15V when motor is running. 0V when stopped.
