Operation on / off
Press the button to open the glass cover. The light
switches on automatically and the unit initially oper-
ates at low speed.
Press the button again to close the glass cover. Op-
eration stops and the unit returns to standby mode.
Lighting on / off
Button to switch the lighting on or off.
The lighting can be operated independently of opera-
tion, so even with the glass cover closed.
Increase power level
Reduce power level
Press the respective button during operation to in-
crease or reduce the power level. The display shows
the selection.
Power level 1:
Suitable for cooking on a low flame and for dishes
which produce no or little steam to circulate the air
around the kitchen.
Power level 2:
Suitable for normal cooking.
Power level 3:
Suitable if large quantities of smoke and steam need
to be extracted or filtered (e.g. when frying).
Timer (overrun time with automatic switch-off)
With very strong vapor emission, the fan should con-
tinue running after cooking for a few minutes. Use
the timer for the switch-off function.
Press the button during operation to activate the
overrun time of 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes the operation switches off automati-
cally. The glass cover remains open until you press
the operation button.
NOTE:
If you change the power level while the timer mode is
switched on, the automatic switch-off function is de-
activated.
Gesture control (motion sensors)
NOTE:
 For a description of the functions, first refer to the
"Function buttons / description"
section
 About 10 minutes after the last button press, the
gesture sensor switches to sleep mode. This is
ended after pressing any function button. The
gesture control can only be performed when acti-
vation.
You can control the operating state and the power
levels with gestures.
The lighting and the timer must still be controlled via
the function buttons.
To ensure that the gesture control functions correctly,
perform the movements with open hand at approx.
8 cm from the surface of the control panel.
Start operation / open glass cover
Move the hand from left to right.
The glass cover opens, the lighting switch on auto-
matically and the unit starts working at low speed.
Increase power level
Move the hand from left to right again until the dis-
play shows the desired power level.
Reduce power level
Move the hand right to left again until the display
shows the desired power level.
Switch off operation / close glass cover
Move the hand from right to left until the display goes
off.
The glass cover closes automatically. Operation
stops and the unit returns to standby mode.
