5.7 Residual risk

Although this information sheet and the
operating manuals for our electrical tools
contain extensive instructions on safe work-
ing with electrical tools, every electrical tool
involves certain residual risks that cannot
be completely prevented through safety
mechanisms. Therefore, electrical tools
must always be operated with the neces-
sary caution.

5.8 Emission levels

Levels determined in accordance with
EN 60 745 are typically:
Sound pressure level
Noise level
Uncertainty
CAUTION
Operating noise
Damage to hearing
► Use ear protection!
Vibration emission value a

ured in accordance with EN 60 745:

The emission values specifi ed (vibration,
noise) were measured in accordance with
the test conditions stipulated in EN 60 745
and are intended for machine comparisons.
They are also used for making preliminary
estimates regarding vibration and noise
loads during operation.
The emission values specifi ed refer to the
main applications for which the power tool
is used. If the electric power tool is used for
other applications, with other tools or is not
maintained suffi ciently prior to operation,
however, the vibration and noise load may
be higher when the tool is used.
Take into account any machine idling times
and downtimes to estimate these values
more accurately for a specifi ed time period.
This may signifi cantly reduce the load dur-
ing the machine operating period.

Activation

WARNING
Before performing any maintenance
work on the tool, always remove the
plug from the electrical mains socket.
Check that the information on the manufac-
turing label complies with the actual power
supply voltage.
Equipment marked with 230 V can also be
connected to 220 V / 240 V.
Check that the plug type is the same as the
socket type.

6.1 Additional handle

WARNING
Operate the machine only with the
additional handle. Loss of control can
cause personal injury.
Place the additional handle [1-8] in the
working position to provide a safe and fa-
tigue-free working situation.
Tighten the lower hand grip of the additional
handle [1-8] by turning in a clockwise direc-
tion. Turn the hand grip in an anticlockwise
direction to release it.

6.2 Depth stop

The required drilling depth can be set using
the depth stop [1-9].
Release the additional handle [1-8] and in-
sert the depth stop [1-9] into the additional
handle.
Extend the depth stop [1-9] until the dis-
tance between the tip of the drill and the
tip of the depth stop [1-9] corresponds to
the required drilling depth.

6.3 Switching on/off

Press or release the on/off switch [1-5].
The on/off switch can be locked on with
the locking button [1-6]. To release, briefl y
press and release the on/off switch [1-5].

6.4 Speed control

With the on/off switch [1-5], the speed can
be continuously varied. With light pressure
on the on/off switch [1-5], the machine be-
