3.3 Testing a secure seal
To check for a tight fit, a leak test must be performed before each deployment.
(1) Insert the regulator into the mask. The regulator must not be coupled to the full
respiratory protective devices.
(2) Close the opening on the connecting piece of the hose from the regulator with the
thumb.
(3) Check for leaks through inhalation and exhalation. A
vacuum must be created by inhalation, there must be no incoming air felt, nor

any overpressure arising during exhalation, and no air should pass through the
∙
seal. Otherwise, the mask must not be used.

3.4 Mask removal

Raise both helmet adapter hooks to the side, and pull from the

side catch pockets of the helmet.
Hold the mask on the connecting piece, remove forwards and remove.

Store the helmet.
