3.2 Mask application

ATTENTION! To ensure a tight mask fit, eyeglass wearers must use corrective mask
goggles, since normal prescription glasses cannot be worn under the
respirator mask.
When fitting the mask, the chin strap must remain unfastened.
Turn the adjustment knob behind the helmet to enlarge so that there is sufficient

space for the sealing lip of the mask between the head and the headband.
Put on the helmet and slide down to the neck, so that the forehead is

unobstructed.
Hook the mask's helmet adapter into the side catch pockets of the helmet.

Push the helmet forward again until a good fit is achieved, and ensure that the

sealing lip of the mask sits between the head and headband.
Tighten the chin strap and secure the ends with the Velcro fasteners.

ATTENTION! When using a flame guard, we recommend first pulling it on and then
pressing the mask to the face with one hand. With the other hand, position the flame
guard so that it is in no way located between the face and the sealing lip of the mask.
Should this not be possible to do alone, a second person can assist.
ATTENTION! The chin strap should be a snug fit under the chin. Remove chincup.
Both neck straps must fit snugly under the ears and on the back of the head.
Have the correct fit of the mask double-checked by a second person.
