2 Security
All safety notes in this document must be observed in order
to avoid accidents with personal damage or property dam-
age. No liability is assumed for personal damage and prop-
erty damage caused by improper use or non-observance of
the safety notes. In such cases any warranty claim is invalid.
There is no liability for consequential damages.
2.1 Intended use
The device is part of the Alpha Smart system and is used for
the following purposes:

– for installation in environments of residential use
– Setup of a single room control with up to 10 zones (de-

pending on the type used) for water-guided floor heat-
ing systems

– Connection and supply of a pump and thermal actuators

Any other usage, change, and modifications are strictly pro-
hibited. Usage other than the intended use leads to dangers

for which the manufacturer is not liable, and to an exclusion
of warranty and liability.

2.2 Qualification of the professional staff

Mounting and commissioning of the device require basic

mechanical and electrical knowledge as well as knowledge
of the associated technical terms. In order to ensure opera-

tional safety, these activities may only be carried out by a
trained, instructed (also with respect to safety), and autho-

rized specialist or by an instructed person under the direc-
tion of a specialist.

A specialist is someone who is able to assess the work as-
signed to him, recognize possible hazards and take suitable
safety measures, on the basis of his technical training,
knowledge and experience as well as his knowledge of the
relevant regulations. A specialist must comply with the rele-
vant specialist rules.
2.3 General safety notes
– In case of emergency, disconnect the complete room-
by-room temperature control system.
– Only work on live parts when they are de-energized.
– Only use the device if it is in flawless state.
– Do not operate the device without device cover.
– Ensure that the device does not get into the hands of
children.
– Only use the device within the power range and ambi-
ent conditions specified in the Technical Data.

– Ensure that the device is not exposed to the effects of
moisture, vibration, constant sunlight or heat, cold or
mechanical stress.
