Bitte lesen Sie die vorliegende Gebrauchsanweisung sorgfältig durch. Bei
Fragen wenden Sie sich an Ihren Arzt oder Fachhandel von dem Sie dieses
Medizinprodukt erhalten haben.
Zweckbestimmung
Bei diesem Medizinprodukt handelt es sich um eine Orthese zur Ruhigstellung
des Daumengrund- und Daumensattelgelenks.
Indikationen
Posttraumatisch, postoperativ, z. B. nach Distorsion, Kontusion, Bandläsionen
(Ski-Daumen), Ruhigstellung bei rheumatisch-entzündlichen Prozessen
(Rhizarthrose).
Kontraindikationen
Thrombosegefahr, hochgradige Varikosis Periphere arterielle
Verschlusskrankheit (PAVK), Lymphabflussstörungen auch unklare
Weichteilschwellungen körperfern des angelegten Hilfsmittels, Empfindungs-
und Durchblutungsstörungen der versorgten Körperregion, Erkrankungen der
Haut im versorgten Körperabschnitt.
Anwendungsrisiken / Wichtige Hinweise
Dieses Medizinprodukt ist ein verordnungsfähiges Produkt. Sprechen Sie
Anwendung und Dauer mit Ihrem verordnenden Arzt ab. Die Auswahl der
geeigneten Größe und eine Einweisung erfolgt durch das Fachpersonal, von
dem Sie das Medizinprodukt erhalten haben.
– Wichtig: Bitte setzen Sie die SellaFix N Mittelhand-Daumenschiene keiner
direkten Hitze oder Temperaturen über 50 °C aus (z. B. heißes Wasser,
Fahrzeuge, Sauna, Heizung), dies könnte Schädigungen des Materials zur
Folge haben.
– Medizinprodukt vor radiologischen Untersuchungen ablegen
– bei längeren Ruhephasen ablegen z.B. beim Schlafen
– bei Taubheitsgefühl Medizinprodukt lockern oder ggf. abnehmen
– bei anhaltenden Beschwerden den Arzt oder Fachhandel aufsuchen
– Medizinprodukt indikationsgerecht einsetzen
– gleichzeitige Nutzung anderer Produkte nur nach Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt
– keine Änderungen am Produkt vornehmen
– nicht auf offenen Wunden tragen
– nicht verwenden bei Unverträglichkeiten gegen eines der verwendeten
Materialien
– kein Wiedereinsatz – dieses Hilfsmittel ist zur Versorgung eines Patienten
bestimmt
– während der Tragedauer der Orthese: keine lokale Anwendung von Cremes
oder Salben im Bereich des angelegten Hilfsmittels – kann Material zerstören
Anziehanleitung für den Techniker/Arzt:
Bitte beachten Sie, dass die Korrekturmöglichkeiten der SellaFix
Daumenorthese von Fachpersonal oder durch einen Arzt vorgenommen
werden sollten. Um die Passform zu optimieren, kann die Orthese entweder
durch gezieltes erwärmen auf 90 °C z. B. durch einen Heißluftfön (Bitte achten
Sie hier auf ausreichend Abstand von ca.15cm) oder durch vollflächiges
erwärmen mit einem handelsüblichen Wärmeofen an die Gegebenheiten
des Patienten angeformt werden. Die Orthese darf nicht in der Mikrowelle
erwärmt werden! Orthese vor dem Erwärmen öffnen. Nach dem Erwärmen
kann die nun flexible Orthese, nach kurzem Abkühlen, direkt auf der Haut
angeformt werden. Nach dem Anlegen der erwärmten Orthese schließen Sie
die Verschlüsse, beginnend am Handgelenk, nach distal Richtung Daumen
und modellieren die Kunststoffschale an die anatomischen Gegebenheiten des

Intended purpose
This medical device is a brace for immobilisation of the metacarpophalangeal
joint and saddle joint of the thumb.
Indications
Post-traumatic, post-operative conditions, i.e. after sprain, contusion,
ligament lesions (skier's thumb), immobilisation in the case of rheumatic-
inflammatory processes (rhizarthrosis).
Contraindications
Thrombosis risk, extreme varicosis, peripheral arterial occlusive disease
(PAOD), lymph drainage disorders, also unclear soft tissue swellings distal to
the aid positioned, sensory and circulatory disorders with the region of the
body treated, skin diseases in the part of the body treated.
Application risks/Important notes
This medical device is a prescribable product. Discuss the use and duration
with your treating physician. The expert staff from whom you have received the
medical device will select the appropriate size and instruct you regarding its use.
– Important: Please do not subject the SellaFix N metacarpus thumb splint
to direct heat or temperatures exceeding 50°C (e.g. hot water, vehicles, the
sauna, heating) as this may result in damaging the material
– remove the medical device prior to radiological examinations
– remove it during longer periods of rest, e.g. when sleeping
– in case of numbness, loosen the medical device and remove it if necessary
– in case of persistent complaints, consult the physician or specialist retailer
– use the medical device in accordance with therapeutic needs
– only use other products simultaneously after consultation with your physician
– do not make any changes to the product
– do not wear it on open wounds
– do not use in case of intolerance of one of the materials used
– no re-use – this medical aid is intended for treating one patient
– whilst wearing the brace, please neither use any creams nor ointments on
or around it as they can destroy the material
Fitting instructions for the technician/physician:
Please observe that the correction options provided for the SellaFix
brace should be made by expert staff or a physician. To optimise the fit, the
brace can either be formed to fit the patient's circumstances via targeted
heating to 90 °C, e.g. with a hot air dryer (please observe sufficient distance
of approx. 15 cm here) or using full surface heating with an ordinary
commercial baking oven. The brace may not be heated in a microwave oven!
Open the brace before heating it. After being heated, the brace, which is
flexible in the meantime, can be directly formed on the skin after cooling
down briefly. After fitting the heated brace, close the fasteners, starting at the
metacarpophalangeal joint distally towards the thumb and model the plastic
shell to the patient's anatomical circumstances.
The Velcro fasteners guarantee stepless adjustability.

Utilisation prévue
Ce dispositif médical est une orthèse de stabilisation de l'articulation
métacarpo-phalangienne et de l'articulation trapézo-métacarpienne du pouce.
Indications
Post-traumatique, post-opératoire, p. ex. après distorsion, contusion, lésions
ligamentaires (pouce du skieur), immobilisation en cas d'état rhumatismal et
inflammatoire (rhizarthrose).

gewährleistet.
Anziehanleitung für den Patient:
Streifen Sie die Orthese über das Handgelenk und positionieren den Daumen
im Daumenrohr. Schließen Sie nun den zirkulären Klettverschluss am
Handgelenk und am Daumen. Durch den Klettverschluss wird eine stufenlose
Einstellbarkeit gewährleistet.
Ablegen
Zum Ablegen der Orthese öffnen Sie den zirkulären Klett am Daumenrohr und
Handgelenk und streifen die Orthese Richtung Finger ab.

Landes, in dem Sie das Produkt bezogen haben. Bitte wenden Sie sich
an Ihren Fachhandel, sollten Sie einen Gewährleistungsfall vermuten.
Bitte das Produkt vor Einreichung eines Gewährleistungsfalles reinigen.
Wurden beiliegende Hinweise der Gebrauchsanweisung nicht ausreichend
beachtet, so kann die Gewährleistung beeinträchtigt werden bzw. entfallen.
Ausgeschlossen ist eine Gewährleistung bei nicht indikationsgerechter
Anwendung, Nichtbeachtung der Anwendungsrisiken, -hinweise sowie
eigenmächtig vorgenommenen Änderungen am Produkt.
Nutzungsdauer / Lebensdauer des Produkts
Die Lebensdauer des Medizinprodukts wird durch den natürlichen Verschleiß
bei sach- und anwendungsgemäßem Umgang bestimmt.
Meldepflicht
Kommt es bei der Anwendung des Medizinproduktes zu einer
schwerwiegenden Verschlechterung des Gesundheitszustandes, dann
melden Sie dies Ihrem Fachhändler oder uns als Hersteller sowie dem BfArM
(Bundesinstitut für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte).

Fitting instructions for the user:
Slip the brace over the wrist and position the thumb in the thumb tube.
Now close the circumferential Velcro fastener on the wrist and the thumb.
The Velcro fastener guarantees stepless adjustability.
Removal
To remove the brace, open the circumferential Velcro on the thumb tube and
wrist and slip the brace off in the direction of the fingers.

Do not use fabric conditioner. Dry in the fresh air.
Close the Velcro fastening to avoid damage to other laundry items.
Guarantee

a warranty claim. Please clean the product before submitting a warranty
claim. If the enclosed instructions for use have not been properly observed,
the warranty may be impaired or cancelled. The warranty does not cover use
of the product inappropriate for the indication, non-observance of application
risks, instructions and unauthorised modifications to the product.
Useful life/Lifetime of the product
The lifetime of the medical device is determined by its natural wear and tear if
treated appropriately and as recommended.
Duty of notification
If a serious worsening of the state of health occurs when using the
medical device, you are obliged to notify the specialist dealer or us as the
manufacturer and the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency
(MHRA).

Contre-indications

Ce dispositif médical est un produit prescrit sur ordonnance. Consultez votre
médecin prescripteur pour en connaître l'utilisation et la durée de port. Le
choix de la taille ainsi qu'une présentation du produit seront réalisés par le
personnel spécialisé qui vous fournira ce dispositif médical.
– Important : ne pas exposer l'attelle du métacarpe et du pouce SellaFix N à la
chaleur directe ou à des températures supérieures à 50°C (p. ex. eau chaude,
véhicules, sauna, chauffage). Vous risqueriez d'endommager le matériau
– retirer le dispositif médical avant les examens radiologiques
– retirer lors des phases de repos prolongées p. ex. pendant le sommeil
