Mounting Instructions

Please select the position of the SmartDrive and RF receivers so as to ensure that the direct
line of connection runs as little as possible through walling or other attenuating material in
order to minimise attenuation losses as much as possible.
1. Minimum Distance to High Frequency Interference Transmitter
The SmartDrive should be installed at least 0.5 m away from high-frequency interference
emitters to avoid disturbance of the radio system through their parasitic radio waves. These
include computers (also monitor screens), audio and video equipment, microwave ovens,
electronic transformers and ballasts. As a precaution, a 1 – 3 m distance to transmitting
antennas of other radio services, such as cordless phones (DECT) or cordless headsets
should be adhered to.
2. Optimum Distance between SmartDrive and Receivers
To avoid overloading the receiver, there should be a minimum distance of 1 m between the
SmartDrive and receiver.
3. Optimum Mounting Height
For the best possible transmission and reception quality, the recommended mounting height
of the SmartDrive unit is 2 m.
