System overview

The wind protection insert (WSE) prevents the
reversing fan from revving up due to wind. This
prevents wind-induced noise. At the same time, the
airfl ow volume is only minimally reduced thanks to
the geometric design of the wind protection insert.

Before installation, please check which wind protec-
tion insert is required for your ventilation unit.
The wind protection insert can be retrofi tted to an
existing ventilation system.
Note that the minimum wall thickness increases
when using the wind protection insert.

• Installation and operating instructions
Installation position
The wind protection insert is inserted into the wall
sleeve from the building interior. It is installed on the
exterior wall side between the weather protection
hood and the thermal accumulator.
Figure 2 shows the layout inside the iV14R ventila-
tion unit. Installation in other devices is performed
analogously .
