5 OPERATION
Operating conditions
Before operation, please read the information on intended use, the safety information and the information on
■
unsafe applications.
Before using the lifting magnet in a production environment, it is important to familiarise yourself with the lifting
■
magnet and all its characteristics.
Never leave the magnet switched on without a load!
■
The maximum temperature of the load and of the environment must not exceed 80 °C!
■
Wipe the pole surfaces of the magnet and the contact surface of the load clean. Remove any burrs and weld
■
spatter.
Position the magnet in the centre of gravity of the load as best as possible. It must be ensured that the load does
■
not exceed the rated capacity of the lifting magnet. Refer to the table with the lifting capacity information on the
magnet.
The workpiece always has to fully cover the pole surfaces of the magnet and always with the same mass.
■
Never place the magnet on a large opening or on a drilled hole in the workpiece.
■
Switch on the lifting magnet only once it has made contact with the load.
■
Switch off the lifting magnet only once the load has been secured.
■
Please note that the low switching moment applies only when the positioned workpiece has a sufficient thickness.
