Connecting a 12 V battery (optional)
A 12 V battery connection cable can be purchased from your local PATURA dealer. Instructions
for connecting a 12 V battery to an energiser are supplied with the connecting cable.
Connecting to an electric fence
1. Position the energiser on firm ground, away from flooding and out of the reach of children
and animals.
2. Push earth stake fully into firm ground. If the ground is dry or sandy, performance can be
improved by using a longer earth stake that can be obtained from your fencing supplier.
3. Connect the green earth lead to the earth terminal (

Operating PATURA P20 and P40 energiser
Switching on and off
To switch the energiser on, press
The two indicator lights illuminate briefly, then the pulse indicator will flash.
To switch off the energiser, press
The pulse indicator will stop flashing.
Changing the pulse speed
To change the pulse speed, press
Fast pulse speed pulses every 1.5 seconds to maximise energiser effectiveness.
Slow pulse speed pulses every 2.5 seconds to maximise battery life.
Note: The energiser pulses at fast speed when first switched on. The pulse indicator light flas-
hes each time the energiser pulses.
