Creating a Drive Image (Windows)
Before changing your old hard drive for the new solid state drive, back up all of your
data from the old drive. One easy way to do that is with imaging software.
This product includes Acronis True Image HD software for Windows, which allows you to easily
create an image of your Windows computer's hard drive. To use the SHD-NS SSD with an OS X
Mac, refer to your OS X manual to create a backup, then turn to page 8 for installation instructions.

Create an image of your old drive to this new drive

Caution • If the capacity of this SSD is smaller than the amount of data saved on to the old drive, an
image cannot be created.
• Acronis True Image HD does not support RAID arrays. If your computer's main drive is a RAID
array, you will not be able to create an image of it with the included software.
To make an exact copy of your old drive's contents on the new drive, follow the instructions below.
What is "creating Image?"
Creating an image means to copy the data saved on your computer's internal hard drive to
another location, in this case your new drive. After creating an image of the old drive on your
new drive, you can replace the old drive with the new drive, and you will then be able to use your
computer just like you used to with the original drive. All you data will have been transferred.
