14.4 Saving Power
To save power and increase the battery runtime, the GPS receiver is deactivated most of the time
in battery operation (without external operating voltage).
If the "GX107" changes position (change of the GSM radio cell) or the "GX107" receives a GPS
command, the current GPS site is updated at once.
Otherwise, the GPS receiver is reactivated for a few minutes after a set time. The following
command sets this period:
SET GPSSAVE <time in minutes> #1513
Time = 0 - 250 minutes (0 = GPS is not deactivated)
The battery runtime with a connected GPS receiver directly depends on this setting.
If, e.g., deactivation of the GPS receiver is switched off ("GPSSAVE = 0"), the battery
runtime reduces to a few hours (depending on the battery condition and ambience
temperature).
Reset to factory settings
Send the following command to reset to the factory settings (60 min):
RESET GPSSAVE #1513
Checking settings
To verify the settings, use the command:
TEST GPSSAVE #1513
