8. prepArAtIon

1. Install a SIM Card (Mini SIM Spec, 25 × 15 mm).
Obtain a SIM card. Be aware that Alde Smart Control module is not compatible with Micro or
nano SIM cards. Be sure to deactivate PIn code protection on the SIM card. This can usually
be done by accessing the SIM card with an older mobile phone. The following steps are to be
done (it can differ between phone models):
1:1 Install the SIM card in the phone.
1:2 Switch on the phone.
1:3 The phone asks for the pin code. Enter the code delivered together with the SIM card.
1:4 Enter the settings menu.
1:5 Switch Off the PIn code request in the security menu.
1:6 Go back to the standby screen and Switch Off the phone.
1:7 If the phone is restarted no PIn code request should show up.
Switch Off the phone and remove the SIM card.
With a "pay as you go" SIM card, ensure it has credit prior to use.
• Carefully remove the cover of the
Alde Smart Control module and
open. There are two clasps either
side (se fig. 1)
• Insert the SIM Card into the
module (se fig. 2) as indicated
and replace the cover. If SIM is
to small, use MicroSim adapter
available in the market.
2. Install the Alde Smart Control App.
Download and install the Alde Smart Control App on your smartphone. The App is available free
from the App Store on iTunes (iPhone) or from Google Play (Android)
3. Disconnect the power.
Disconnect the 12 V battery and mains electric on the vehicle.
4. Plan position.
Ensure that the Alde Smart Control cable and any additional 12 V cables do not touch 230 V
electric cables, due to interference. The antenna should be as unimpeded by walls, bulkheads
and furniture as possible. The position of the module must be relatively close to the Alde panel
as the cable that connects the two devices is 75 cm.
