Descaling Procedure - Zanussi EMZ17-SSB Gebrauchsanweisung

Wash the removable parts of the appliance (filter holder,
filter, measuring spoon, removable grid, drip tray) with a
sponge soaked in dish soap. Rinse with clean water and let
dry.
Empty and rinse the inside of the water tank after each use.

Descaling procedure

It is normal for limescale to form in the appliance.
Limescale particles can form in the water deposit and in the
machine and can block the pipes and cause malfunctioning
or damage. The descaling frequency depends on water
hardness and the frequency of use. Descale your appliance
regularly if there is a noticeable slowdown in the flow rate.
We recommend a monthly descaling.
To descale your appliance, please follow the instructions
below:
1. Buy a commercial descaling product especially for
descaling espresso machines.
Note: You can replace the commercial descaling product by
mixing ½ l of water with ½ l of white vinegar (5% acetic acid).
2. Dilute the descaling solution with water according to the
manufacturer's instructions. Wait until the descaling
solution is completely dissolved in the mixture.
3. Pour this solution into the water tank, filling it to the
"MAX" mark.
4. Connect the appliance to a power outlet.
5. Place the 2 cups filter inside the filter holder.
6. Insert the filter holder into the appliance.
7. Place a large cup under the filter holder. Check that the
steam knob controller is in position 0.
8. Press on the ON/OFF button , it lights red and the
espresso dispensing button flashes white. The appliance
enters the preheating mode for 2 minutes.
