Filling the filter

Filling with ground coffee
Fill the filter with finely ground coffee, preferably
choose a special "espresso" coffee (suitable roasting
and finer grinding).
* 1 measuring spoon for the 1 cup filter
* 2 measuring spoons for the 2 cups filter
Distribute the ground coffee evenly in the filter and
tamp it lightly with the flat end of the spoon. Make
sure that the coffee does not exceed the MAX line
indicated on the inner wall of the filter. Any excess
ground coffee beyond the MAX marking and
deposited on the edges of the filter holder must be
removed.
Filling with E.S.E. pod
Check that the filter placed in the filter holder is the
one for E.S.E pods (Easy Serving Espresso:
simplified preparation for espresso); this filter has
no MAX marking on its inner wall.
Place the pod in the filter, making sure that the ends
do not protrude from the filter holder.
Note: universal pods are incompatible with this
appliance.

Inserting and removing the filter holder

Position your filter holder with the handle on the left
as shown in the diagram below. Insert it inside the
notches.
Turn the filter holder to the right side to lock.
The filter holder is locked when the handle is
perpendicular to the appliance and aligned with the
marking .
Reverse the procedure to remove the filter holder
from the device.
