1. DESCRIPTION
The 16-682-XX is a freestanding column designed to be anchored in the ground and is part of the range Access Control Design. The flat cable with con-
nectors, two bolt modules and the adjustable lighting module are supplied with the column as a standard. The base with adjustment bolts for positioning the
column is already mounted in the column. The column is made of enamelled aluminium. The column comes in different dimensions:

2. INSTALLATION

Choice of the cabling
Niko recommends the following cables:
- interior cable:
- UTP cat. 5E (max. 100m)
- exterior cable / underground cable:
- UTP cat. 5E OUTDOOR
- ATCUG (armoured telephone cable): 4 x 2 x 0.8mm (This cable is less practical in use, but does guarantee covering longer distances thanks to the
larger wire section). In order to simplify installation, a transition piece from UTP to screw connection is available (16-679-01).

Installation
Make two holes (interspace of 85mm, fig. 1) in the ground for the Rawlplugs (not incl., max. diameter 14mm)
to anchor the column in the ground. Three 10mm holes are provided (fig. 1) for the supplied adjustment
bolts. These adjustment bolts enable to adjust the position of the column in all directions (fig. 2 and 3).
Insert the required cables through the opening provided (fig. 1) at the bottom of the frame.
Remark: the base for the column is already attached to the column. If any difficulties with anchoring
the base in the ground or changing the position of the column occur during installation, you can remove
the lower bolt module (fig. 4) to limit the risk of damaging the column. Make sure to screw-fix the bolt
module back in the right place, otherwise the front plate does not fit.
