1. DESCRIPTION
The 16-645 is a surface mounting external unit and is part of the range Access Control Design. The external unit is available in 2 models: with 1 bell push
button (16-645) and with 2 bell push buttons (16-646).
This external unit has a surface mounting height of 31mm. Thanks to the anodized aluminium front plate that is placed over the surface mounting unit, the
external unit has a flat finish. For engravings of the bell push button(s) or for a deviating RAL color, order 16-645-99 or 16-646-99. In this case, your order
has to be accompanied by a fully completed and signed document for custom-made goods (enclosure in price list or on demand). For the complete system,

2. INSTALLATION

Choice of cabling
Niko recommends the following cables:
- interior cable::
- UTP cat. 5E (max. 100m)
- exterior cable / underground cable:
- UTP cat. 5E OUTDOOR
- ATCUG (armoured telephone cable): 4 x 2 x 0.8mm (This cable is less practical in use, but does guarantee covering longer distances thanks to the
larger wire section). In order to simplify installation, a transition piece from UTP to screw connection is available (16-679-01).

Mounting the external unit
The recommended mounting height for a camera is 165cm (distance from the ground to the opening for the camera). Partially unscrew the 2 screws at the
bottom of the external unit to remove the front plate (fig.1).
