e) Switching off
To switch off during use or operational readiness, activate the main button until there is an
audible signal. Now the control is in the stand-by mode and the display shows the current state
of plate temperature (residual heat indicator):
L
low) for temperatures below 50 °C or
H
(hot) for temperatures exceeding 50 °C.
If the appliance is disconnected from the mains, this indication will extinguish.
Note: After an extended use, it is normal for the fan to continue running in the stand-by mode.
COOKING WITH YOUR INDUCTION COOKING PLATE
10 power levels - from 300 W to 2000 W
The appliance always starts operation at power level 1300 W. This is indicated by the value
showing on the display and simultaneous glowing of the "POWER" LED.
By pressing the + button you may increase the power up to 2000 W.
By pressing the – button you may reduce the power down to 300 W.
Note: The temperature at the bottom of the cooking utensil is checked by a sensor in the centre of
the cooktop. The maximum tolerable temperature for the power level operating mode is 200 °C.
Therefore, the power level operating mode is ideal to boil water or for steaming.
10 temperature levels - from 60 °C to 240 °C
Activate the "TEMP" button to change over to the temperature level operating mode. This is
signalled by the value shown on the display and simultaneous glowing of the "TEMP" LED.
The initial value after setting the temperature operating mode for the first time is 120 °C.
By pressing the + button you may increase the preset temperature up to 240 °C.
By pressing the – button you may reduce the present temperature down to 60 °C.
When the required temperature is reached, the power supply is controlled in cycles ensuring the
desired temperature is maintained.
Note: The temperature at the bottom of the cooking utensil is read by a sensor in the centre of
the cooktop. The regulation will only function properly if this area is covered with the cooking
utensil. The cooking utensil should have a flat and not too thick bottom to ensure a good heat
transfer.
The maximum tolerable temperature for the temperature level operating mode is 240 °C.
Therefore, the temperature level operating mode is ideal for roasting, grilling or frying.
Cooking small food quantities
Induction technology with its quick and direct heat transfer may cause a short-term overheating
of small food quantities to be cooked. Thus we recommend for heating small quantities to
start with "power level" mode at a low power level (01 – 03), and to switch over to the desired
temperature level after a few minutes.
Cooking large food quantities
In the upper performance range of the "temperature level" mode the power output is reduced.
So in order to avoid long heating-up sequences, for heating bigger quantities (> 1500 ml) we
recommend to start with "power level" mode at a high level (09 – 10) and to switch over to the
desired temperature level after a few minutes.
