out of the reach of children.
• This product is to be installed and used only in dry conditions indoors. The product must not
get damp or wet as this would damage it!
• The camera is intended to be used only with a stabilised direct current of 12 V/DC. The inner
contact of the round plug should be Plus/+, the outer contact Minus/-.
• The use of the surveillance camera system does not replace the personal supervision of chil-
dren, or people who require special assistance, but only serves as a support to this supervision.
• The camera should not be exposed to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong vibrations
or heavy mechanical stress.
• Do not use the camera in rooms or under adverse ambient conditions where combustible gas-
es, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a risk of explosion!
• Make sure that the connection cable is not being pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
• If the camera is used with other devices (e.g. a monitor), the operating instructions and safety
notices for these devices must be followed as well.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental drops, even
from a low height.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous playthings for children.
• A safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works
- the device was stored for a longer period of time under adverse conditions
- it was exposed to heavy stress during transport
• On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the industrial work-
ers' society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our technical
service or another specialist.
Connection
The camera is equipped with a connection cable with two connectors at the end:
• BNC connector: With this the video signal (PAL) is available. Use an adapter if you do not have a BNC
cable for this connection.
• Round plug: At this socket the external power supply is to be connected. Be sure to use only a stabilised
power supply unit with an output voltage of 12 V/DC (direct current) (see section "Technical Data" at the end
of the operating manual).
Pay attention to the correct polarity of the connector for the power supply (inner contact = plus/+,
outer contact = minus/-), otherwise the camera will be damaged; loss of warranty!
Set the correct input channel at the display device to display the camera image.
Installation
www.conrad.com
The camera may be fastened with the ceiling/wall fastening (A) or with an installation plate (B), which is included.
Version 01/11
°
When choosing the place of installation, ensure that the camera is not directly angled towards bright sources
of light or the sun; this may cause overmodulated images.
A Ceiling/wall mount
This enables the camera to be secured, for example, to the ceiling or
wall of a room. Plug the camera into the holding ring and tighten the
small screws in the holding ring to stop the camera from dropping
down.
After that, fasten the pedestal on the desired place of installation.
B Installation plate
A hole with a cross section of approx. 22 mm is required to fasten the
camera inconspicuously, e.g. in a wall or ceiling panel.
Subsequently, plug the camera into the installation plate and fasten
it there with the two small screws of the installation plate.
The installation plate, in turn, can be fastened via four screws holes.
Cleaning
Clean the camera from dust occasionally. Use a clean, dry soft cloth or a clean, soft brush and a vacuum
cleaner.
Do not press on the lens too hard, as this may cause scratches.
Tips and guidelines
• Install the camera so that it cannot be reached without using auxiliary means.
The same applies to the connection cables. Ideally, they should be installed using a plastic or metal pipe.
• Increased cable lengths result in a deterioration of the video signal. In this case, use an appropriate ampli-
fier.
If the cable used to supply the power is too long, the voltage will drop and thus, the operating voltage for the
camera is no longer sufficient. This may lead to stripes in the image or to a signal loss. If necessary, use a
cable with a larger cross-section to reduce the voltage drop.
