Unpacking
Check all the parts for completeness and damage after unpacking.
Damaged parts must not be used for safety reasons. In case of any damage
contact our customer service.
Installation of the measurement program
Switch on your computer and insert the enclosed software CD into the CD drive of your com-
puter. The automatic start mode will automatically start the installation of the measurement pro-
gram. If the program does not start automatically, open the file „setup.exe" in the CD directory.
Connection and operation
Connect the enclosed USB-Y connecting cable to two free USB ports on your computer and
then with the USB connection (6) on the DSO.
The driver is installed with the first connection of the PSO to the PC.
If the installation does not take place automatically, perform it manually. To this end, go to
"Control Panel" and open the "Device Manager. Right-click the icon with the yellow exclamation
mark and then click "Update driver software". You can now search for the drivers manually or
automatically.

Making measurements

To start the measurement, click on the software icon.
Start the computer and connect the USB connector from the computer to the DSO, before
starting the program.
Open the programme „DSO-XXXX" by double click on the software icon.
The measurement program's start screen appears and initialises the DSO.
The DSO is ready for use.
By using the program key „AUTO" (Autoset) all parameters for the DSO are set
automatically, so the optimum signal display appears on screen.
The measuring signal should only be applied to the internal conductor.
The external conductor (reference earth) is connected to the earth potential
(protective earth conductor)
• Check the measuring device and its measuring leads for any damage before each measu-
rement. Never take any measurements if the protecting insulation is defective (torn, missing,
etc.).
• To avoid electric shock, do not touch the connections/measuring points directly or indirectly
during measurements.
• Never reach beyond the grip surface of the probes during a measurement process. There is
danger of a life-threatening electric shock.
• Do not use the device shortly before or after a thunderstorm (lightning! / high-power surges!).
Make sure that your hands, shoes, clothing, the floor, the measuring device and/or measuring
lines, circuits and circuit components are always dry.

Cleaning
Before cleaning the device, switch it off and disconnect it from the USB cable.
Live components may be exposed if the covers are opened or parts removed
(unless this can be done without tools).
Prior to cleaning or repairing the device, all lines must be detached and the
device must be turned off.
• Do not use scouring, chemical or aggressive cleaning agents such as benzene, alcohol or
such like. These might attack the surface of the device. Furthermore, the fumes are explosive
and hazardous to your health. Moreover, you should not use sharp-edged tools, screwdrivers
or metal brushes or the like for cleaning
• For cleaning the device or the display and the measuring cables, use a clean, slightly damp,
fuzz-free, antistatic cloth.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable material and do not belong in the household waste.
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regu-
lations.
