7.2 Software configuration and parameterisation of the card
In the manual of the interface card placed inside the shipping box you'll find the set-up rou-
tine for Windows '95 etc.
For Windows NT the following set-up routine should be used:
1. Place the interface card in a free PC-PCI slot.
Be carefull, several slots can be reserved for certain devices with fixed interrupts. In this
case the interface card must be mounted in a PCI slot with a free interrupt.
2. Install the Software from Disk "PCI Communication Drivers" (SETUP.EXE in file WinNT).
3. Open DOS-Box.
4. Call up Configuration Utilities "CFGREG /u" from file c:\Programme\Quatech\Serial.
The list of COM-Ports is shown.
5. Call up Configuration Utilities "CFGREG /bDSC-200 /cX /t750".
X = next free COM-Port (for example: /c3).
This command should only be done once. With every start of this command new com-
mand lines will be added in the Registry. This can cause problems.
6. Restart the PC.
7.3 Connection to the scanner and pin reservation of the card and scanners
The pin connection of the outputs by the Quatech Interface card for PCI Bus is not the same
like the pin connection of the MOXA Interface card for EISA Bus. Please check the wiring
carefully if you have used the MOXA Card before. The table below shows the connection
which need to be made for proper function. The output connectors of the Quatech Interface
card are two 9-pin Sub D female connectors.
