Voltage for delta U detection 'NiMH Sensitivity'/'NiCd Sensitivity' (NiMH and NiCd bat-
teries only)
Here, set the voltage at which the delta U charging method detects a fully charged battery. If
the value is too high, the charger may fail to recognise that the battery is fully charged. In that
case, the charging duration safety timer or the capacity limitation circuit will usually respond
(if set correctly). Voltages can be set between 3 mV and 15 mV. The default setting is 4 mV.
If the value is too low, the charger switches off before the battery is fully charged.
Change the voltage step-by-step and monitor the charging process. Due to the large
variety of different batteries, it is not possible to recommend an optimal setting.
Delay time for delta U detection 'PEAK DELAY' (NiMH only)
The charger ends the charging process for NiMH batteries using the delta U method. Here, set
how long the charger should continue charging after the delta U detection.
Switching button confirmation/warning tones on/off 'Key Beep'
Use the 'Key Beep' function to enable ('ON') or disable ('OFF') button confirmation tones to
confirm operations and settings. Use the 'Buzzer' function to enable ('ON') or disable ('OFF')
function/warning messages.
Displaying the firmware version 'Version'
The charger's current firmware is shown at the bottom right of the LC display.
Loading factory settings 'LOAD FACTORY SET'
This functions allows you to restore factory settings.
Press and hold the ENTER START
appears on the LC display (10). The charger then restarts and loads the main menu.
Note that all previously configured settings will be restored to the factory defaults.
The data in the 10 battery profile memories will also be deleted.
Additional process information
You can fetch information on the charging and/or discharging process during the charging
process or on the LC display.
• Press the STATUS DEC - button (8) to display the various settings on the LC display (10).
If no button is pressed for a few seconds, the charger returns to the normal display.
• Press the STATUS INC + button (7) to display and monitor the voltage of individual cells
if you have connected a balancer cable for charging lithium batteries. Briefly press the
ENTER START button (6) so that the charger returns to the normal display.
This display shows the final voltage applied to the battery at
the end of charging.
This display shows the internal temperature of the device and
the battery temperature (if an external temperature sensor is
connected).
This displays indicates whether the safety timer is on ('ON').
The duration of the set time is also displayed in minutes.
The display indicates that maximum capacity limitation is
switched on or off, plus shows the set maximum shut-off
value.
A balancer cable is connected to the battery. The charger can
verify the cell voltage of individual cells in the battery pack.
Warning and error messages on the LC display
The charger monitors its functions and displays warning messages. Warning tones are also
sounded.
REVERSE POLARITY
The polarity of the battery connections is incorrect.
The connection to the battery has been interrupted, e.g. if the
CONNECTION BREAK
battery was disconnected during charging.
CONNECT ERROR
The battery was connected with reverse polarity.
CHECK MAIN PORT
BALANCE CONNECT
The balancer terminal on the battery was not connected
properly or was connected with reverse polarity.
ERROR
INT.TEMP.TOO HI
The internal charger temperature is too high.
The temperature measured by the external temperature
EXT.TEMP.TOO HI
sensor (not included, available separately) is too high.
OVER CHARGE
The preset capacity limit (see section 16) was exceeded.
CAPACITY LIMIT
OVER TIME LIMIT
The preset time limit for the charging process was exceeded.
The connected battery is fully charged. If necessary, check
BATTERY WAS FULL
the setting for the number of cells.
button (6) for longer than 3 seconds. 'COMPLETED'
Care and cleaning
Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions,
as these may damage the housing or stop the product from functioning properly.
• Disconnect the product from the mains before each cleaning. Disconnect the plug from the
mains power socket.
• Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
• To prevent scratch marks, do not press too hard on the surface of the enclosure or LC
display when cleaning.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be placed in household waste.
At the end of its service life, dispose of the product according to the relevant statu-
tory regulations.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to environmental protection.
