2 Applications
The digital picture storage system TVSET-320 is an
indoor surveillance system, e. g. for recording occur-
rences in case of burglary or robbery. The recorded
pictures (max. 32) can be evaluated later on a monitor.
The picture storage system consists of a control
unit (including mounting auxiliaries), a B/W camera
with pinhole lens, two key-ring remote controls, and a
plug-in power supply unit for operating the system via
the 230 V mains supply. The system is supplied with
the following accessories: an adapter cable for
connection to a cigarette lighter socket and a video
cable for monitor connection. If required, the picture
storage system can be supplemented by an emergen-
cy switch (not supplied with the system).
2.1 Approval
According to the R+TTE directive (Radio and Tele-
communication Technical Equipment), the approval of
the remote control is valid in the countries of the Euro-
pean Union. For operation in countries outside the EU,
please contact your retailer or the MONACOR subsid-
iary in the particular country.
In the Federal Republic of Germany, the frequency
range around 433 MHz has been approved for the
operation of wireless transmission systems. As it is
possible that this frequency range for this field of appli-
cation is not available in other countries of the EU,
please contact your retailer or the corresponding aut-
horities of the particular country if the system is oper-
ated outside the Federal Republic of Germany.
3 Safety Notes
The components of the picture storage system corre-
spond to the directive for electromagnetic compatibili-
ty 89/336EEC. The plug-in power supply unit also cor-
responds to the low voltage directive 73/23/EEC.
Attention!
The power supply unit is supplied with hazardous
mains voltage (230 V~). Leave servicing to skilled
personnel only. Inexpert handling may cause an elec-
tric shock hazard. Furthermore, any guarantee claim
will expire if one of the units has been opened.
Please observe the following items in any case:
The system is suitable for indoor use only. Protect
the units against dripping water and splash water,
high air humidity, and heat (admissible ambient tem-
perature range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not cover the openings of the control unit hous-
ing and do not insert any objects. The unit may
otherwise be damaged.

If the system is connected to the 230 V mains sup-
ply via the power supply unit, do not operate the
system or immediately disconnect the power supply
unit from the mains socket
1. if there is visible damage to the control unit, to the
camera, or to the power supply unit ,
2. if a defect might have occurred after a unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled per-
sonnel.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
chemicals or water.
No liability for any damage will be accepted if the
units are used for other purposes than originally
intended, if they are not correctly operated or con-
nected or not repaired in an expert way.
If the picture storage system is to be put out of oper-
ation definitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the environment.
4 Installation
1) Remove the protective foil from the adhesive strip
on the camera support (8) and glue the support to
a suitable location.
2) Screw the control unit (1) to a suitable location or, if
the control unit is to be portable for evaluating of the
recorded pictures at a different place, fasten it in
such a way that it can be easily removed.
3) Connect the camera plug (7) to the inline jack (6) of
the control unit.
4) For power supply during mobile application, con-
nect the supplied adapter cable to the jack DC IN
(2) and to a cigarette lighter socket. Otherwise
connect the supplied power supply unit to this jack
and connect the power supply unit to a mains
socket (230 V~/50 Hz).
5) For aligning the camera, connect a monitor to the
jack V-OUT (5) via the supplied adapter cable
(3.5 mm plug/phono plug). Switch on the control
unit with the sliding switch (4) and press the button
ARMED (b) on the remote control. Align the camera
and switch off the system with the button OFF (c).
6) It is also possible to connect an emergency switch
(not supplied with the system) to the jack V-OUT.
This switch can be used to start recording of a pic-
ture sequence, if required.
Note: If the system is operated via the power supply
unit and is not used for a longer period, disconnect the
power supply unit from the mains socket, as it will have
a low current consumption even with the control unit
switched off.
