6 IDA (Intelligent Door Alarm)
The REED-switches and the included door magnet
enable the PIR II to work as an Intelligent Door Alarm.
The idea behind the IDA functionality is that the IR
sensor in combination with the door magnet senses
if the user has exited, e.g. the user opens the door
and goes out. After the door is closed and there is
no movement detected by the PIR sensor an alarm is
sent.
There is no alarm when a person enters the room,
making it easy for personnel and other visitors.
Alternatively a delay can be set if the user regularly
goes out and fetches mail/newspaper. In this case, if
the user goes out and does not return back within a
given time frame an alarm is sent.
6.1 Installation
It is important to ensure that the centre of the door
magnet is aligned (both horizontally and vertically)
with the two vertical lines on the side of the case and
that the distance between the PIR II cover and the
magnet is not more than 5 mm.
The recommended height for mounting is around 2
meters.
