1. Security

Important Safeguards

Please read and understand the instructions fully before using the device. The device should
only be operated as described in the instructions The device must only be used for the pur-
poses specified in this manual. Please keep this manual to hand for future reference
Maintaining and repairing the UltraNeb
Repair and general overhaul of the apparatus may only be carried out by trained service
personnel. Only authentic spare parts may be used for maintenance. This unit should
undergo an electrical safety check every two (2) years according to VDE 0751/BS EN 60601
- Visually check unit for any external damage
- Ensure all internal components are secure & fitted correctly
- Ensure filters and fans are not occluded by dust/debris
- Check connections of the unit chamber & heated tube plug
- Visually check transducer for damage
- Check/Test all settings on the device, and ensure they are functional
- Check/Test audible alarms, and ensure they are functional
Accessories
Do not use accessory parts other than those in the order list.
Liability for proper function or damage
The liability for the proper function of the apparatus is irrevocably transferred to the owner
or operator to the extent that the apparatus is serviced or repaired by personnel not
employed or authorized by Sunrise Medical Service or if the apparatus is used in a manner
not conforming to its intended use. Sunrise Medical cannot be held responsible for damage
caused by non compliance with the recommendations given above. The warranty and liability
provisions of the terms of sale and delivery of Sunrise Medical are likewise not modified by
the recommendations given above.

Intended use

UltraNeb - ultrasonic nebulizer
- to humidify breathing air for patients who are breathing spontaneously and
- for aerosol therapy.
Aerosol therapy must only be given as prescribed by a healthcare professional
Also follow hygiene regulations.

Warnings

Danger - Do not use the device with flammable or explosive liquids ! Explosion hazard !
Danger - The UltraNeb must not be used with patients requiring ventilation
Danger - The ultrasonic nebulizer must not be installed in a breathing systems !
Never put hoses or connectors into body openings. Using other hoses or systems, particu-
larly in case of heated aerosol treatment please contact your authorized dealer.
Danger - If the ultrasonic nebulizer is used in conjunction with face mask or mouth piece,
always choose the lowest trim level of aerosol and fan setting. A test must be run
before application. Higher settings than the lowest will bring fluid accumulation
in the respiratory organs. In case of such application. The patient must be monito-
red by a Healthcare Professional.
Danger - Don't use the ultrasonic nebulizer without the compulsory bacterial filter.
