(2) General application ofwater separator (HWA)

HWA 600 is a mobile, sensor-controlled water separator with filter cartridge and fully automatic
immersion pump for connection to a side channel blower using vacuum process.

By developing a mobile water separator HEYLO has produced a device ideally matched to the
side channel blower (SKV). The unit is light and compact, thus can be transported and cleaned
easily.

The water separator is suitable for drying insulation layers with stagnant water in case of floating
floors, flat roofs (warm room construction), cavity floors, etcetera.
▪
The device combination of water separator and side channel blower is ideal wherever free water
is present in an insulation layer. In contrast to over-pressure drying, no water is spread further in
the building.
▪
Collected water is drained automatically.
▪
Dirt particles drawn in are filtered by the SKV.
▪
Hose connections not required on HWA 600 can be closed with dummy caps enclosed.
▪
Hoses of 38 mm or 50 mm can be connected optionally.

(3) Setting up the unit

Two carry handles as well as a topside recessed grip are provided on the HWA. They are used
exclusively for carrying the water separator.
•
The units have to be secured against rolling away or slipping during transport. Never stack more
than three separators on top of each other.
•
When installed in the vicinity of stairs or landings, the units have to be secured against rolling
away or tipping over.
•
Install the units preferably in rooms only where people are not constantly present. As far as
possible, use a silencer to reduce noise annoyance.
•
When guiding hoses, avoid dangers of tripping. Consider hanging up hoses in public areas.
•
The HWAs have to be secured by a power feed with 16 A. In old buildings, the use of a start-up
current limiter is recommended in order to avoid premature fuse blow-out.

(4) Application and initial operation

In insulation layer drying, HEYLO HWA 600 is used to separate free water in insulation layers in front
of the side channel blower in order to prevent damage to the SKV.
If problems with blowing fuses in old buildings, for example, when the unit is used in combination with
the SKV series, we recommend the use of a start-up current limiter. HWA 600 must be used in
vacuum process exclusively in insulation layer drying.
HEYLO water separator HWA 600 can be switched off completely with the cut-out switch. Before use,
the non-return valve of the immersion pump has to be checked for function. If this is omitted, HWA
may draw in room air at this point. In this case no low pressure can be built up in the insulation layer.
The non-return valve is located on the front side of the water separator behind the hose connection
nozzle.
The compressors of the HEYLO series have a high exhaust flow. Objects and particles sucked in can
be ejected at high speed and can cause injuries. For this reason, never put your hand there, and do
not look into the exhaust opening when switching the compressor on.
