Troubleshooting
Reset fault
Faults can be reset via
• the BOS software
• a positive edge at the fault reset inputs of the I/O array of the weld
timer
• the RESET button on the timer's front side (for PSI 6x00)
• the diagnosis module (for PSI 6xCx).
Example of a fault: Transformer temperature monitoring responds
Condition: The timer inputs for transformer temperature monitoring are
used.
Temperature sensor in the transformer has opened.
1.
As a result, the weld timer stops all further sequences.
2.
The "Transformer temp too high" fault is output.
3.
Possible cause
Cable between temperature sensor
and timer broken
Insufficient cooling of the trans­
former.
Excessive welding heat (%I) / duty
cycle

Action
Check cable/connector
Check cooling circuit of the trans­
former.
Reduce welding heat (%I).
