Commissioning
Connect a programming terminal with installed BOS to the weld timer

(connector for programming unit: refer to „PSI 6xxx: Weld timer with
medium-frequency inverter" operating instructions.
Configure the transformer settings of all electrodes (guns) used at the

relevant timer via BOS.
For detailed information on this topic, refer to Section 8.1 on page 141
et seq.
Switch on the power supply of the inverter, if you have not already

done so.
The inverter starts. After approx. 10 seconds the DC link is loaded to
full voltage.
The DC LINK VOLTAGE LED at the front side of the timer now has to
be lit red (refer to page 139 Fig. 20:).
Test the plant functionality installed for any faults.

We do not accept any liability for damage resulting from the the exe­
cution of a program, an individual program block or the manual move­
ment of the handling units.
We furthermore accept no liability for consequential damages which
could have been avoided by programming the PLC appropriately.
Turn the power supply (mains) off.

The red DC LINK VOLTAGE LED on the timer's front panel is
extinguished.
The bridge rectifiers are inhibited and the DC link voltage in the power
unit is slowly discharged.
The green LOGIC LED continues to be lit green in the case of external
24 V supply of the control logic (at X4).
Dangerous electrical voltage
Possibility of cardiac arrhythmia, burns, shock!
Never interpret the extinguishing of all LEDs on the weld timer as
"
zero voltage!
Please note that the voltage inside the unit directly after switching
"
off the mains supply of the weld timer has not been reduced to a
harmless level yet.
" Do not touch either mains or transformer connections for at least 5
minutes after switching the weld timer's mains supply off.
" Use suitable measuring equipment and an appropriate measuring
method to ensure that the respective unit is de-energized before
carrying out any work on the unit.
