When delivered, the transformers have already been prepared for the
"direct PE conductor connection" protective measure (to EN 62135-1).
For this purpose, the PE connection is connected to the negative pole of
the secondary circuit through a detachable protective conductor jum
per.
The PE connection is always connected internally to the transformer
housing and cannot be removed.
The protective measure used is dependent on the respective applica
tion.
The machine/plant supplier/operator is responsible for selection,
realization and functional testing.
"
Make sure that only cables or flexible cords of a sufficient core size
are used for making the connections.
Connect the transformer's protective conductor terminal (PE) to a
"
suitable grounding point.
Install the suitable protective measure in accordance with the cir
"
cumstances of the plant.
If the protective conductor jumper is removed or replaced by a
"
ground fault protection resistor, this condition has to be indicated in
an indelible manner on the transformer's circuit diagram.
"
If the protective conductor jumper is used, a test according to Sec
tion 7.2.3.1 on page 133 et seq. has to be performed.
Check whether or not circulating currents are present. Also refer to
"
Section 7.2.3.2 on page 134 et seq.
If the ground fault protection resistor is used, a test according to Sec
"
tion 7.2.3.3 on page 136 et seq. has to be performed.
