Protective features of the inverter and troubleshooting
Residental current protection
Short circuit protection
Low voltage protection
Overvoltage protection
Overload protection
Heat protection
If one of the protection circuits is triggered, try to fi nd the cause and rectify it.
The inverter is not damaged when one of the safety circuits is triggered. After the inverter has been switched
off and on again, it operates normally again, provided the cause of the fault has been rectifi ed.
If the inverter does not function after it has been switched off and on, check the plug-in fuse on the rear of
the inverter and replace it if necessary.
The cause for the plug-in fuse triggering could be that the input voltage is incorrectly plugged in (plus and
minus the wrong way around). Check the polarity of the cigarette lighter!
Caution!
Use 20 A car fuses only. Using the wrong type or strength can damage the inverter and/or the connected
devices!
If the permitted load of the cigarette lighter is exceeded, the lighter fuse in your vehicle is triggered. If this
occurs, consult the manual for your vehicle or contact the manufacturer or dealer's workshop.
Safety and use protection measures
1.
The inverter is only intended for use in vehicles.
2.
Use the inverter with intended on-board networks (12 V) only. Never use them in 24 V networks! If
in doubt, consult the manual for your vehicle or contact the manufacturer.
3.
For best results and safest operation, place the inverter on a fl at and stable base.
4.
Keep the inverter dry. Never expose the inverter to rain or moisture.
5.
Avoid using the inverter in the immediate vicinity of the heating outlets or other heat sources.
6.
Ensure that the inverter is suffi ciently ventilated and that heat can dissipate adequately.
7.
Never open the device.
8.
Keep this device, as with all electrical devices, out of the reach of children.
9.
Should any of the following happen, do not use the device under any circumstances and contact
your dealer or our service department immediately:
-
The device fuse (20 A) is triggered immediately after it is replaced
-
The connection socket, connecting cable or plug are damaged
-
The housing of the inverter is damaged
-
The device is defective, i.e. there is no output voltage even if you are sure that none of the
abovementioned safety circuits have been triggered.
-
If you see smoke, smell odours or hear unusual noises from the device

If there is a residual current of at least 30 mA on the PE
conductor, the device deactivates automatically
The inverter deactivates automatically if a short circuit occurs
If the battery voltage drops to 10.5 V an alarm signal sounds
The inverter deactivates automatically if the battery voltage
drops further to 10.0 V
At input voltages of 15.0 V or more, the inverter deactivates
automatically
If the maximum output current of 150W is exceeded for
extended periods, or the pulse load exceeds 375 W, the
inverter deactivates automatically.
If the battery temperature reaches 60°C or more, the
inverter deactivates automatically.
