CD 820 M - Front panel controls
   
CD Tray
Press the     button to open and close the CD tray.
   
    / 
When a CD is playing, press this button to stop
playback.
When the CD is stopped, the disc drawer opens. If the
drawer is open, it closes.
 
 

Skips to the start of the previous track
during playback.
 
 
• Starts playback from the STOP mode
   
• Skips to the start of the next track
   
   
Button for storing and erasing a MEMO program.
 
 
   
Halts playback temporarily, i.e. interrupts the track being
played. Resume playback by pressing the 
again.
   
 
 
When you press this button briefly for the first time, the
currently selected digital filter is displayed on the
PT 820 M's integral system screen.
Pressing this button repeatedly switches to each of the
CD 820 M's five digital filters in turn.

'Technical description of digital filters / oversam-
pling'.

Rewind / fast forward to search for a particular passage.
During the search the current track time is shown on the
left-hand side of the display.
Multi-function screen
The PT 820 M's integral screen provides information
about the machine's operating state and all its settings.
The CD 820 M displays information in the following
areas:
Main display
a
The main display shows context-relevant infor-
mation on the program source or the individual
operational processes.
During normal playback the screen displays the
current track and playing time.
Time display / Filter number display

When the CD is not playing, the screen displays
the total duration of the disc at this point.
During playback the screen displays the elapsed
time of the track being played.
When you are creating a playback program, the
screen displays the total duration of the tracks you
have already stored (program length).
When the disc drawer is open and when you
switch filters (see section 'Special functions,
Technical description - digital filters / oversam-
pling') the number of the currently selected filter
appears at this point.
