Before installing a Sharp M icrow ave Oven, read and check the follow ing points.
SAFETY INFORM ATION
1. Except U.K., for use in continental Europe only.
The oven m ust be connected to an electric circuit provided w ith a sw itch (contact gap no less than 3
m m ) to disconnect the oven in case of danger. A safety-device like a fuse in the installation m ay be
used as a sw itch.
2. Disconnect the oven from the pow er supply before installation.
3. Surround
a. M ake sure that the EBR-4900 is the correct surround for your oven.
b. The Sharp M icrow ave Ovens are designed to either stand neatly on a kitchen counter top or to be built
into a fitted kitchen cabinet using the surround.
c. The EBR-4900 surround w ill becom e hot during oven operation. Take care to prevent burns w hen you
use the oven.
4. Kitchen cabinet
Prepare the kitchen cabinet as follow s;
a. The kitchen cabinet m ust be of the follow ing dim ensions as show n in Fig. 1.
b. M ake sure that the back panel

be installed and the heaviest item likely to be cooked in the m icrow ave oven. Refer to the instruction

5. Installation near to a conventional oven
a. When a m icrow ave oven is to be installed next to a conventional oven, sufficient space betw een them
should be allow ed to prevent overheating as the surround can w arp w ith excessively high tem pera-
tures.

b. A built-in m icrow ave oven m ust not be installed above a conventional oven otherw ise the m icrow ave
oven's cooling system m ay be adversely affected by hot air produced by the conventional oven.
6. Installation near a refrigerator or freezer
a. If the m icrow ave oven is to be installed above a refrigerator or freezer requiring back ventilation, a
ventilation duct behind the m icrow ave oven m ust be provided. It is essential that the refrigerator/
freezer m anufacturer's installation procedures are follow ed.
b. Do not install the m icrow ave oven above a refrigerator or freezer w hich are ventilated at the front.
7. Fixing
To avoid any possibility of the kitchen cabinet m oving w hen the m icrow ave oven is installed, it is
essential that the kitchen cabinet is fixed to the back w all.
8. Adjustm ent and repair
It is dangerous for your oven to be adjusted or repaired by anyone except properly qualified service
technicians trained by Sharp.
If the appliance is ever rem oved from the cabinet it should be re-installed in accordance w ith these
instructions, w hich should be kept in a safe place for future reference.
