• Handle the product with care. The product can be damaged if crushed, struck or drop-
ped, even from a low height.
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or heavy
mechanical stress.
Rechargeable batteries
• Do not leave the batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallo-

• If your skin comes into contact with leaking or damaged batteries, you may suffer burns.
For this reason you should use suitable protective gloves.
• Make sure that the batteries are not short-circuited, disassembled or thrown into the fire.
There is a risk of explosion!
• For the correct disposal of rechargeable batteries, please read the chapter "Disposal".
Getting Started
The watch is operational once the charging state of the rechargeable battery is sufficient.
Charging status of accumulator
Recognition of empty batteries
• If the seconds hand moves in 2 second steps every 2 seconds, the rechargeable battery is at a low
charging level, but the time is correct. Re-charge the accumulator.
• If the seconds hand moves alternately in 1 second steps per 1 second and then 2 second steps every
2 seconds, the rechargeable battery is at a low charging level and the time is not correct. Recharge
the accumulator and set the time manually. The time is also set automatically, this however, may take
several hours or even days.
• If the seconds hand moves very rapidly, the watch performs an automatic time adjustment. Do not
pull out the winder while the watch is in this state since this would stop the automatic time adjust-
ment.
• If the hands stop, the accumulator is at a very low charging level but the internal clockwork continues
to run. If the accumulator is totally empty, the internal clockwork will also stop. Recharge the accu-
mulator and set the time manually. The time is also set automatically, this however, may take several
hours or even days.
Manual control of the accumulator's charging level
www.conrad.com
• Pull out the winder once the seconds hand reaches the 12 o'clock position.
• Push the winder back in. The seconds hand rotates and stops. The seconds hand then shows the
accumulator's charging level as described below. Wait until the watch has reached the normal ope-

rating temperature.

07:00 o'clock
06:00 o'clock
If the seconds hand has not precisely reached the 12 o'clock position when pulling out the winder, a
wrong charging level of the accumulator might be displayed. If you were not able to pull out the seconds
hand exactly at the 12 o'clock position, please try again.
Charging the accumulator
The accumulator of the solar wristwatch can be recharged by artificial light or sunlight.
Sunlight
Place the watch on a window sill with the clock-face pointing upwards or at another place with solar
radiation. Sunlight is a free and ecological natural energy source.
Artificial light
Put the watch under a fluorescent lamp with the clock-face pointing upwards, since such lamps are
most similar to natural sunlight. Due to the low heat emission of fluorescent lamps the watch will not
be damaged, provided that you keep a minimum safety distance of approx. 5 cm.
Replacing the accumulator
In order to avoid damages we recommend you let a watchmaker or jeweller carry out the replacement
of the accumulator.
Setting the time of day manually
The time of day will be set automatically after a few hours or days, as long as the accumulator is not
fully discharged. Due to the long waiting time of the automatic time correction, it is best that you set
the time manually:
• Pull out the winder until you feel a resistance and you hear a click.
• Turn the winder to the desired time of day.
• Press the winder back in until you feel a resistance and you hear a click. The seconds hand rotates
and stops.
• Wait until the seconds hand resumes the normal seconds rhythm.
Maintenance and Care
• Clean the product with a soft, clean and dry cloth.
• Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemicals since this will damage the casing.

The accumulator might be discharged due to storage and transport.
Never charge the accumulator under a hot light source. A high heat emission may
damage the watch.
• With fluorescent lamps the charging time is shorter than with other lamps. With other
lamps with a higher heat emission keep a sufficient distance.
• With a full accumulator you can expect an operating time of approx. 5 months. However,
we recommend recharging the accumulator on a weekly basis. The watch features an
accumulator over-charge protection.
• The accumulator will be empty after approx. 3 days without light supply.
