Video VGA Converter
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to operating the unit and keep them for later ref-
erence.
1 Applications
This converter is able to convert video signals of dif-
ferent formats (CVBS, S-Video, component video) of
any video sources (camera, video multiplexer, video
recorder, DVD player or games console) into a VGA
signal for display on a PC monitor.
The converter also features a VGA feed-through
input for connection of a PC. The button POWER (6)
allows to switch between the converted video signal
and the VGA signal of the PC.
2 Safety Notes
The units (converter and power supply unit) corre-
spond to all relevant directives of the EU and are
therefore marked with
.
WARNING The power supply unit is supplied
with hazardous mains voltage. Leave
servicing to skilled personnel only.
Inexpert handling or modification of
the power supply unit may cause an
electric shock hazard.
It is essential to observe the following items:

The units are suitable for indoor use only. Protect
them against dripping water and splash water,
high air humidity and heat (admissible ambient
temperature range 0 – 40 °C).

Do not set the converter into operation, and
immediately disconnect the power supply unit
from the mains socket
1. if there is visible damage to one of the units,
2. if a defect might have occurred after a drop or
similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
The units must in any case be repaired by skilled
personnel.

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never use
chemicals or water.
G
No guarantee claims for the units and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material
damage will be accepted if the units are used for
other purposes than originally intended, if they are
not correctly connected or operated, or not re -
paired in an expert way.
If the units are to be put out of operation
definitively, take them to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harmful to
the environment.
3 Connections
Always switch off the units before making or chang-
ing any connections.
1) For connection of the video source(s) three inputs
are available, the button
allows to switch be -

– jack CVBS - IN (1) for signals in the CVBS format
(composite)
– jack SVIDEO - IN (3) for signals in the S-Video for-
mat
– jacks Y, Pb and Pr (4) for signals in the compo-
nent video format
2) Connect the VGA monitor to the jack MONI-
TOR (9).
3) For alternate operation of the PC and video
source with the monitor, connect the PC to the
jack VGA – IN (8). A VGA connection cable is sup-
plied with the converter.
4) The audio signal from the PC can be fed to the
jack LINE – IN (10) [a 3.5 mm audio cable is sup-
plied with the unit] and an audio signal can be fed
from the video source to the jacks AUDIO IN (2).
Connect the audio output SPEAKER – OUT (11)
to the audio input of the monitor, an active
speaker or an amplifier.
5) Connect the plug-in power supply unit provided to
the jack DC5V (7) and to a socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz).
4 Operation
1) As long as the VTM-25 is not switched on, the
VGA signal of the PC at the jack VGA – IN (8) is
displayed on the monitor. To display the video sig-
nal of a unit connected to the video input jacks (1,
3, 4) on the monitor, switch on the VTM-25 with
the POWER button (6). The POWER LED (5)
lights up.
2) Press the button
(repeatedly) to select the corresponding video
input. The monitor picture is shortly blue, then the
picture of the selected input is displayed. The
selected input is shortly shown on the screen:
"CVBS", "SVIDEO" or "YPbPr". If no signal is
present at the selected input, the message "No
Signal" is displayed.
3) Depending on the adjusted resolution (see chap-
ter 4.1), the aspect ratio of the picture can be
selected with the button

4.1 Adjustments via the On-screen Menu
The adjustments via the on-screen menu are made
with the 5 buttons
side of the unit.
1) Call the main menu with the button :

or the menu is deactivated automatically when no
button has been pressed for 10 seconds.

3) Select the resolution with the button
confirm with the button . The monitor picture is
shortly blue, then the picture is displayed in the
selected resolution. The menu Resolution is still
displayed for 10 seconds. The line
selected. To switch back to the previous resolu-
tion, press the button .
Note: It is possible to switch back to the factory-set res-
olution of 1024 × 768 when no menu is inserted and the
button
is kept pressed for 6 seconds.
4) Call the main menu for the picture adjustments
with the button , select the line
