Conditions at the Installation Location

Protect the force washer from moisture and dampness or weather conditions
such as rain, snow, ice and salt water.
CAUTION
Measurement errors (forces too small or too large) occur if the
insulation resistance becomes less than 10
overload of the measurement equipment and therefore danger for the
operating personnel of the system in which the transducer is installed.
To obtain sufficiently high values, all the plug connections have to be kept
thoroughly clean. A positive or negative signal drift of the nominal (rated)
output signal without any force applied indicates insufficient insulation
resistance. The plug connection contacts should therefore be cleaned with a
clean, lint‐free cloth and a cleaning agent (pure isopropanol).
Protect the transducer plug against pollution and under no circumstances
touch it (plug face) with your fingers. The supplied cover should always be in
place when the connection is not in use.
NOTE
To avoid damage and incorrect measurements, the connection cable should
remain connected to the transducer following initial assembly. The transducer
must not be operated without a charge amplifier being connected.

4.1 Ambient Temperature

The effect of the temperature on the sensitivity is low and can be ignored.
However, thermal stresses will occur if the force washer is warmed unevenly
and these stresses will generate an output signal. The following measures
improve the stability of the measurement:
 Store the transducer for sufficient time at the application temperature.
 Avoid temperature fluctuations, e.g. from hand warmth, shortly before
measurement.
 Implement a reset after every measurement cycle.
 Note the temperature limits of the transducer (see Specifications section,
page 17).
