VC-KS50 Luggage Scale

Intended use
Use the scale for weighing pieces of luggage up to 50 kg. Measured weights can be read from
the display. Hook your luggage up to the scale using the integrated strap.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in
bathrooms, must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use
the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In
addition, improper use can result in hazards.
Read the instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to
third parties only together with its operating instructions.

Safety Instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on
proper handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting
personal injury or damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/
guarantee.
a) General information
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the
reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying
around carelessly. This may become dan-
gerous playing material for children.
• Protect the appliance from extreme tem-
peratures, direct sunlight, strong jolts,
high humidity, moisture, flammable gases,
steam and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any me-
chanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the
product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe
operation can no longer be guaranteed if
the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
b) Weighing
• Do not overload the product. Observe the
max. weight as indicated in the Technical
Data.
Operation
a) Managing the power supply
Power is supplied through an internal capacitor charged by the built-in dynamo. Manage the
power supply as follows:
• Push the dynamo knob on the side of the product to spin the dynamo and charge the
capacitor.
• You can recharge the capacitor while weighing is in progress.
• When the
symbol shows three bars the capacitor is fully charged.
• When the
symbol flashes the capacitor is depleted and the product turns off shortly
after. Use the dynamo to recharge the capacitor.
- has been stored for extended periods in
poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious trans-
port-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts,
impacts or a fall even from a low height can
damage the product.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about the
operation, safety or connection of the ap-
pliance.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs
must only be completed by a technician or
an authorised repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain un-
answered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or
other technical personnel.
• Do not use to weigh objects other than
pieces of luggage.
b) Weighing
• Only weights [ W ] with 2 kg ≤ W ≤ 50 kg can be measured.
• If the product is overloaded, <Err> displays.
• If the product is overloaded at startup, <out2> displays.
Weigh as follows:
1. Guide the strap through the handle of your luggage piece (weight) and close the buckle.
Make sure the strap sits securely to avoid injury.
2. Push the dynamo knob to turn the product on. Wait until <0.00> displays.
- In case a number other than <0.00> shows, press the U/T button to zero the display.
3. Repeatedly hold down the U/T button for approx. 2 seconds to toggle through the weight
units < g / oz / lb:oz / kg >. Stop at the desired one.
4. Hold the product securely with a tight grip. Lift the (weight) until it is suspended.
5. Wait for the display to stabilize. <Hold> displays.
6. Lower the (weight) to the ground.
7. Press the U/T button to zero the display and ready the product for taking a new measure-
ment.
Tare function
Use the tare function to add additional weight when weighing is in progress.
1. After the display stabilizes and <Hold> displays, press the U/T button to zero the display.
<Tare> displays.
2. Continue adding more weight.
Care and cleaning
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as
they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the house-
hold waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with
applicable regulatory guidelines.
You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the envi-
ronment.
