4. Maintenance

No routine or extraordinary maintenance is necessary apart from periodically cleaning the unit as described in this manual.
In compliance with the product guarantee law, repairs to our units must be carried out in our factory, unless previously
agreed otherwise with local distributors. The instrument must be transported in its original packaging and any indications
present on the original packaging must be followed (e.g. palletized).
It is the responsibility of the user, to properly decontaminate the unit in case of hazardous substances remaining on the
surface or interior of the device. If in doubt about the compatibility of a cleaning or decontamination product, contact the
manufacturer or distributor.

4.1 Cleaning

Use a cloth dampened with an non-inflammable non-aggressive detergent.

5. Technical data

Detector
Geiger-Mueller LND 712 tube, uncompensated, halogen quenched. Thin mica window, 1,5-2,0 mg/cm2 thick. About 1000
CPM/mR/hr for Cesium 137.
Energy sensitivity
- detects alpha down to 2.5 MeV; typical detection efficiency at 3,6 MeV is greater than 80%.
- detects beta at 50 KeV with typical 35% detection efficiency, at 150 KeV with 75% detection efficiency.
- detects gamma and X rays down to 10 KeV through the window, 40 KeV minimum through the case.
Normal background is 5-20 CPM.
Operating range
0-50 mR/hr and 0-50000 CPM or 0-500 µSv/hr and 0-50 mR/hr , analog meter with dual scale.
Range switch
X1, X10, X100; battery check. When the switch is in position X1, the instrument reveals from 0 to 0,5 mR/hr, corresponding
to 0-500 CPM or to 0-5 µSv/hr. In the position X10 readings are to be multiplied X10, indicating values up to 5mR/hr or 5000
CPM or 50 µSv/hr. In the position X100, readings are to be multiplied X100, indicating values up to 50 mR/hr or 50000 CPM
or 500 µSv/hr, which correspond to about 2500 times the natural background radiation.
Accuracy
±15% of full scale (referenced to Cesium 137).
Audio
built-in piezoelectric transducer gives audible beep (3 KHz frequency about) when switch is in the AUDIO position. Can be
switched off for silent.
Anti-saturation
Meter will hold at full scale (X100), in fields as high as 100 times the maximum reading.
Operating voltage
7-11 V , CC.
High voltage
Fully regulated, having a variation less than 3V in the outlet for a variation of supply from 9 to 6V.3.10
Power requirements
1 alkaline battery 9V. Battery life is up to 2000 hours at normal background radiation levels.

From -20 °C to + 55 °C.
