Checking the oil level (Fig. 6 + 8)
Remove the Servicing cover(5) Remove the oil filler
cap (22) and wipe the dipstick clean. Check the oil
level by inserting the dipstick into the filling nozzle
without screwing the cap on. If the oil level is too low,
refill with the recommended oil up to the lower rim of
the oil filling nozzle.
Filling with fuel
• To refuel - cap (3) open counter clockwise.
• Fill fuel tank in
• Closing tank - tank cap (3) clockwise.
Recommended fuel
Diesel is required for this engine. Use only fresh and
clean fuel.
m Water or impurities in the fuel damage the fuel sys-
tem.
Tank volume: 16 litre
m Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the
stopped engine. If the engine has been running,
allow it to cool first. Never refuel the engine in-
side a building where Diesel fumes may reach
flames or sparks.
Diesel steams are highly flammable and explo-
sive. You can get burns or other serious injuries
when handling fuel.
• Switch off the engine and keep it away from heat,
sparks and flames.
• Refuelling only outdoors.
• Immediately clean up spilled petrol.
Electrical safety
Electric supply cables and connected equipment
must be in perfect condition.
The generator is to be operated only with equipment
whose voltage specifications conform with the gener-
ator's output voltage.
Never connect the generator to the power supply
(socket-outlet).
Keep the cable length to the consumer as short as
possible.
Environmental protection
Dispose of soiled maintenance material and operat-
ing materials at the appropriate collection point.
Recycle packaging material, metal and plastics.
Connecting to earth
The housing is allowed to be connected to earth in
order to discharge static electricity. To do this, con-
nect one end of a cable to the earth connection on the
generator (14) and the other end to an external earth
(for example an earthing rod).

9. Initial operation

Starting the engine.
• Check whether the mechanical switch (a) is set to
"RUN".
• Important! The power selector switch is set at
the factory and must not be changed.
• Set the ON/OFF switch (7) to the "ON" position us-
ing the key.
• Pull the choke (8) and turn the ON/OFF switch to
"Start" using the key. Release choke after approx.
5 seconds and the engine will start.
• When the engine is running, turn the ON/OFF
switch to "ON".
• If the engine does not start straight away (particu-
larly if the tank was previously empty or after you
have replaced the diesel filter), repeat the starting
procedure by pulling the choke again.
Note: Some electrical appliances (power jigsaws,
drills, etc.) may have a higher level of power con-
sumption when used in difficult conditions
Some electrical appliances (for example televisions,
computers, etc.) should not be powered by a gener-
ator. If in doubt, consult the manufacturer of your ap-
pliance.
Overload cut-out
The generator is fitted with an overload cut-out. This
isolates the relevant sockets if an overload occurs.
Important. If this happens, reduce the electric power
you are taking from the generator or remove any de-
fective connected appliances.
Important. Defective overload cut-outs must be re-
placed only by overload cut-outs of identical design
and with the same performance data. If repairs are
necessary, please contact your customer service
center.
12V DC connector
If an overload occurs, the 12V DC connector (15) will
be isolated from the supply. The 12V DC connector can
be reconnected by pressing the overload switch (16).
230V~ sockets
If an overload occurs, the 230V~ sockets (17) will be
isolated from the supply. You can restart the 230V~
sockets by pressing the overload switch (18).
400V 3~ socket
If an overload occurs, the 400V 3~ socket (13) will be
isolated from the supply. You can restart the 400V 3~
sockets by pressing the overload switch (12).
• Set the selector switch (11) to the left to use 230V~
sockets.
• Set the selector switch (11) to the right to activate
the 400V 3~ socket.
