8.9. Closing the transmitter case
1. Connect the transmitter battery (
2. Carefully fit the back panel to close the transmitter:
Please take great care to avoid any wires becoming trapped
when you close the case. The case back should be an easy
fit, and not require force to close it.
8.10. Installing the 2.4 GHz transmitter aerial
1. Screw the 2.4 GHz aerial to the aerial base:
Grasp the aerial by the knurled end.
The resultant screwed joint must be adequately tight, to en-
sure that there is no chance of the aerial working loose in
use, e.g. when the installed aerial is rotated or swivelled.
Do not use excessive force when tightening the aerial: no
tool is required!
! Note: at regular intervals check that the aerial is firmly
seated, and the screwed joint is still tight.

HANNEL EXPANSION MODULE
Graupner mc-19, mc-19s, mc-22 and mc-22s transmitters with
M-LINK technology can be expanded by four fully proportional
auxiliary channels using the channel expansion module (# 7 5810).
In typical Graupner terminology this corresponds to eight sup-
plementary channels.
Once the channel expansion module has been fitted, up to four
additional transmitter controls can be connected, with an option
of two-position or three-position switches. In this regard please
refer to the notes in the operating instructions relating to the
channel expansion module.
Due to restrictions inherent in the system, the four auxiliary
channels cannot be configured or adjusted using the trans-
mitter's software.
! Note: the four expansion channels are dynamically "ap-
pended" to the PPM signal, and therefore have no fixed channel
assignment, i.e. when the transmitter is operated in different
PPM modes, the auxiliary channels will be present under
different channel numbers: PPM 18 -> channels 10 - 13; PPM 24
-> channels 13 - 16.
This is the procedure for installing the channel expansion
module:
1. The channel expansion module can be installed in any
suitable location inside the transmitter. Ensure that there is
no possibility of a short-circuit once the unit is fitted.

The transmitter battery must be left disconnected all the
time you are carrying out this work (
The following section describes the method of attaching the
unit directly to the stick housing (dome):
2. Position the channel expansion model at its eventual lo-
cation, and fix it to the stick housing (dome) using a self-
tapping screw. Don't over-tighten the screw!
3. Connect the JST lead supplied with the channel expansion
module to the sockets on the 2.4 GHz HFMG2 M-LINK RF
module (socket marked "EXT") and the channel expansion
unit.
The socket marked "EXT" is located at the bottom right-hand
edge of the circuit board of the 2.4 GHZ RF module.
The JST lead must be connected to the 2.4 GHz RF module
with the flat white surface of the connector facing the top of
the transmitter (i.e. pointing forward).
! Caution: note the correct orientation of the JST sockets;
do not force the connectors together.
4. Deploy the JST lead neatly inside the transmitter, using a
cable-tie or adhesive tape to secure the cable. The result
should look like this:
5. Remove the plastic switch blanking plates at the wells where
the additional transmitter controls are to be installed (
Point 2.).
6. Install the controls at the switch positions.
7. Connect the leads (sockets) of the supplementary transmitter
controls to the appropriate sockets on the channel expansion
module.
8. If the total number of servo channels to be transmitted is
greater than twelve:
You will need to disable the "Fast Response" setting (
on the 2.4 GHz HFMG2 M-LINK RF module, otherwise the
supplementary channels will not be transmitted.
9. Re-connect the transmitter battery (
