pletely out of the column, then squeeze the column together
gently between thumb and index finger: the switch blanking
plate can now be removed from the transmitter.
3. Prepare the hole for the installation of the LED button:
! Note: the hole in the transmitter case has to be modified
in order to accept the LED button. Please work with particu-
lar care here, and keep any metal and plastic swarf well
away from the electronics and the mechanical parts.
The first step is to open up the hole in the transmitter case
for the LED button to a diameter of 8 mm.
When you have finished, use a file to cut a small notch about
0.5 mm long and 3 mm wide; the notch is the right size when
the UNI socket attached to the LED button can just pass
through the modified hole:
8.5. Installing the LED button
1. Locate the plastic retaining clip on the LED button, and
remove it completely from the button and the UNI lead.
2. Working from the outside of the transmitter, pass the LED
button - socket first - through the modified hole until the
button rests against the transmitter case. Rotate the button
slightly to and fro until the plastic lug engages - on no
account use force to position the LED button.
3. Fit the retaining clip to secure the LED button:
Fit the retaining clip over the UNI connecting lead, and slide
it up towards the transmitter case as far as it will go.
Ensure that you push the retaining clip latch over the raised
ribs of the plastic lug attached to the LED button: you will
hear several "clicks" when it is pushed into place. This
procedure fixes the LED button to the transmitter case.
! Important: check at this point that the LED button can be
operated by light pressure. When you press and release the
button, it must return automatically to its starting position.
8.6. Installing the 2.4 GHz RF module
1. Remove the 2.4 GHz HFMG2 M-LINK RF module from the
ESD protective bag.
2. The 2.4 GHz HFMG2 M-LINK RF module is installed in the
same location previously occupied by the 35, 40, ... MHz RF
module. This is the procedure:
Place the 2.4 GHz RF model over the mounting frame inside
the transmitter, with the electronic components facing you.
The aerial wire should point to the right as seen from above
(see also the illustration below).
Now carefully screw the 2.4 GHz RF module to the trans-
mitter, using the four screws you previously removed.
! Note: take great care not to over-tighten the screws!
3. Locate the connecting lead (from the main circuit board to
the RF module) which you previously disconnected (
Step 1) and cautiously insert it in the socket of the 2.4 GHz
HFMG2 M-LINK RF module, which is at top right.

8.7. Installing the aerial base
1. Undo the nut on the aerial cable screw connection.
2. Working from the inside of the transmitter, pass the aerial
3. Fit the nut on the outside, and tighten it firmly.
8.8. Connecting the LED button to the RF module
1. Locate the cable attached to the LED button and connect it
2. Neatly deploy the following cables inside the transmitter

to the lower of the two UNI sockets on the RF module. This
socket is marked "SET" on the right-hand edge of the circuit
board.
Take care to maintain correct polarity; see the printed legend
on the RF module.
