3. ASSEMBLY AND FIRST TIME OPERATION

The VOSS.sonic 1000 is powered by 3x AA batteries (not included) or a 230 V mains adapter (not included).
The VOSS.sonic 1000 is splash-proof and can be used both indoors and outdoors. In dry places protected from water, you
can simply place the repeller on the floor.
For outdoor use (e.g. in the garden), we recommend using the mounting post. Hanging holes on the back of the device are
for wall mounting. This way VOSS.sonic 1000 can be used wherever you need it.
For best effect, place this device facing the direction from which the animals come.
Attach the post to the device and insert it into the ground at a desired location. It can be difficult to insert the post the first
time around. However, this is normal. With a little practice, the assembly will be effortless.
Do not use tools, do not force the parts together.
Settings:
The „IR-Range" dial (left) controls the settings of sensitivity and distance. By turning the knob clockwise you increase the
range and operational zone.
To frighten small animals, turn the „IR-Range" dial all the way to the right.
The „Frequency" dial (right) controls the frequency. By turning the knob clockwise you increase/change the emitted
frequency.
Level 0 Device switched off
Level 1 (13 – 19 kHz): mice, rats, marten, foxes, dogs
Level 2 (17 – 23 kHz): hares, rabbits, racoons, cats
Level 3 (22 – 29 kHz): birds, pigeons
Level 4 (8 kHz): intrusion protection, defense against deer, wild boar, animal defense, alarm mode, audible tones
30 s – (4 s sound / 2 s pause / 5 s sound / 2 s pause / 6 s sound / 3 s pause / 8 s sound)

Important
To change a setting, you must always start from the OFF position (0) and then select the desired setting. For example, if you
change directly from setting 3 to 1 without having turned the dial to the OFF position (0), the device will still be in the setting 3.
Battery operation
To open the repeller, unscrew the cover on the back of the device (4x screws, size PH1). Insert the batteries according to the
polarity markings. Then close the cover carefully again and tighten the screws. Do not overtighten the screws. The service
life of the batteries depends on many factors: number of activations, ambient temperature.
Important notice
If the batteries are not sufficiently charged, the ultrasonic sounds are no longer transmitted with sufficient accuracy.
The batteries must be replaced.
Mains adapter (230 V) - operation
Important tip
When using an AC adapter, open the moisture seal on the bottom of the repeller and push the adapter pin in completely.
Simultaneous operation with batteries and mains adapter 230 V is possible.
Important tip
If batteries and mains adapter are used at the same time, the device remains ready for use even in the event of a power
failure. The device then switches automatically to battery operation. Before inserting the batteries or connecting the AC
adapter, make sure that the device is switched off.
VOSS.sonic 1000 is protected against moisture. However, when placing it, care should be taken to select a location where the
mains plug connection is protected and where there is no permanent contact with water, heavy rain or other liquids.
Furthermore, the location should not become a tripping hazard for other people.
Caution
For people with sensitive hearing, certain ultrasound frequencies can lead to health problems such as headaches. This must
be taken into account when installing the device.
