Attempting to install this kit by yourself can be very dangerous,
and may result not only in damage to the unit, but fire or electrical
shock. Pioneer can accept no liability for injuries or damages re-
sulting from installations or modifications performed by the cus-
tomer.

The kit includes two device units: a master fader unit (in-

stalled on right edge) and channel fader unit. The channel
fader unit can be recognized by its lack of parts "A" shown
in the illustration. Be careful to discriminate the two differ-
ent units during installation.
Channel fader unit
To Service Technician
Install the kit according to the following procedure.
÷ Before beginning installation, be sure the power cord is
disconnected.
1. Pull off the channel fader lever knobs (4) and MAS-
TER fader lever knob (1), remove the four screws at
the corners of the fader panel, and remove the panel.
Master fader unit
2. Remove the fader unit installation screws (2), and
lift out the fader unit.
÷ Holding the fader unit conectors (parts B-B'), lift the unit
straight up, taking care not to bend the connector pins.
3. Remove all fader units (5) in the same way.
4. Insert the rotary-type fader units on the connectors
and fasten the installation screws (2). (*)
÷ Holding the fader units' connectors (parts B-B'), press the
units straight down, taking care not to bend the connector
pins.
5. Install all fader units (5) in the same way. (*)
6. Set the fader panel for rotary-type controls in place
and fasten with the corner installation screws (4),
then install the new fader knobs (5).
7. Replace all standard equalizer knobs with the new
replacement knobs (12).
