Feature description

The Air Guard continuously monitors the compressed air
quality of breathing air in accordance with the limit values in the
DIN EN 12021 standard.
Alarms are issued when limits are exceeded. The alarms are
transmitted to signal lamps at the front of the device. There are
additional potential-free contacts available (for example, to
give feedback on compressor control or the filling panel).
The Air Guard has 4 base models, each of which can be
equipped with an optional feature. The base models are:

Intended use

Air Guard is a large-scale permanent installation which
continuously monitors the limit values for specific
14
contaminations in the connected breathing air supply using the
installed sensors. Air Guard analyses the measured values
and triggers an alarm when limit valuesare exceeded. This
alarm activates two potential-free contacts in the device which
can be used to shut down a compressor and simultaneously
lock the taps. Dräger recommends using both potential-free
contacts to make sure that contaminated air is blocked in the
case of an alarm. The alarms are also transmitted by the lamps
installed on the front of the device or by an external visual
warning (optional).
