5. Safety

5.1 Child lock / Key lock

You can lock the control panel to prevent unauthorised use
(e.g. by children accidentally switching on the cooking zones).
Even if the control panel is locked, the On / Off key remains active.
You can thus switch off the hob at any time in an emergency.
Locking the control panel
• Touch the child lock / key lock key
• The timer display will show "Lo".
The control panel is locked except for the on/off key.
Unlocking the control panel
• Make sure that the hob is switched on.
• Press and hold child lock / key lock key
• The "Lo" display will disappear.
You can now use the hob again normally.

5.2 Further safety features

Over-Temperature Protection
A temperature sensor equipped can monitor the tempera-
ture inside the hob.
When an excessive temperature is monitored, the hob will
stop operation automatically.
Residual Heat Warning
When a cooking zone has been operating for some time,
there will be some residual heat.
To warn you to keep away from it, an
the corresponding cooking zone indicator.
Automatic shutdown
Another safety feature of the hob is auto shut down.
Whenever you forget to switch off a cooking zone, it switches
off automatically after a standard switch-off time (see table).
